Balsamic glaze on apple bites

Don’t forget balsamic glaze. It’s a little messy (oh, well), but I think this glaze really makes this appetizer pop in flavor.

TIP: If taking to a party, make ahead. Don’t add the glaze until right before serving.

How to make Prosciutto Wrapped Apple Bites

  1. Toss the apple slices in the lemon juice and set aside.
  2. Use a vegetable peeler or cheese cutter to shave off a 2-3’’ piece of Parmesan cheese.
  3. Lay half a sheet of prosciutto onto a work surface and place the Parmesan shaving in the center. Place an apple slice and a pinch of arugula at the base of the prosciutto to make an upside down “T” shape. Roll upwards until both are tightly wrapped. Repeat for the remaining prosciutto, Parmesan, apple, and arugula.

Are you missing out on true connections?

When I think about friendships, I think about what we are sometimes missing out on– true connections. We have new friends moving to our area that we were introduced to, who we’ve been enjoying at dinner when they come to town. They don’t know anyone here, so we’re jumping in to be their friends and we really enjoy them. I’ve also gotten to know the ladies at my Crossfit gym, and they are delightful and have become great friends.

I believe for most of us, that we’ve fooled ourselves into thinking that real connections cannot happen these days. They really can. And with grace and generosity, I’m trying to be a little more sensitive to them. Looking for it – in a shared moment of beauty, humor, gratitude, and growth!

Our world keeps moving forward and we can certainly learn from one another!

When’s the last time you forged a new friendship?

Enjoy these crisp, sweet apples layered with deliciousness this weekend!

Wrapped in salty prosciutto, it’s a festive presentation, and a popular first course that eveyone loves!

ENJOY!
