Spinach Raspberry Salad
This Spinach Raspberry Salad has spinach, raspberries, red onion, macadamia nuts and avocado. Drizzle with a homemade raspberry dressing!
This salad is the perfect balance for me—healthy greens (we love spinach) and fresh raspberries. Add a homemade raspberry vinaigrette, made with Grandma Ginny’s homemade raspberry jam—perfect.
Spinach Raspberry Salad
I think salads are best when they have a nice mix of flavors and textures—sweet and savory, with a nice crunch. Maybe you’ve also tried my My Favorite Strawberry Spinach Salad or my Best Blueberry Spinach Salad–two of my favorite salads.
I pulled out my old Portland’s Palate cookbook for this salad recipe, when we made a quick dinner invite this weekend. Our neighbors were coming over for lasagna, and I wanted a new, fresh salad. Do you ever feel you’re in a salad rut? Like you make the same salad over and over? Well, it was time for a change. Plus, I had a brand new jar of homemade raspberry jam in my cupboard.
Raspberry Spinach Salad Ingredients:
- Fresh spinach (chopped)
- Fresh raspberries
- Red onion (thinly sliced)
- Macadamia nuts (roasted and chopped)
- Raspberry Vinaigrette
Tips and substitutions:
This salad recipe has it all! Spinach is my favorite base for salads, because it stays nice and fresh (doesn’t wilt while you’re waiting for company). Feel free to mix up the ingredients to please your palate.
- We found fresh raspberries at the market, but you can always sweeten up the salad with dried cranberries.
- There is no cheese in this recipe, but feel free to add feta, blue cheese or even mozzrella cheese.
- Change up the nuts: Add toasted pecans or almonds, hazelnuts (yes, we live in Oregon!), or walnuts.
- The dressing makes a lot, enough for a couple salads!
Raspberry Sesame Dressing
The other thing I love about this salad is the dressing. Gather these ingredients for the best vinaigrette!
- Sesame oil
- Raspberry vinegar
- Raspberry jam (to taste)
- Salt and pepper
If you’re in a pinch, guess what? Buy a bottle of store-bought raspberry vinaigrette. Really, there are tons of dressing flavors that would be delicious.

I love this bowl so much, and the tongs. This is the XL size, but we have smaller sizes. Quick! Buy it now, because we run out quickly. Also the tongs (wood paddles) are quite love.
