Friends, are you ready for the Oscars? The 89th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, airs LIVE on Sunday, February 26, and here’s the full list of nominations for the 2017 Oscars.
Toffifay is the ultimate indulgence while hosting an Oscar themed viewing party with friends!
But first, during Christmas break, our family saw together La La Land in the theaters, a movie about a jazz pianist who falls for an aspiring actress. La La Land tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician (who really plays in the movie!), who are struggling to make ends meet, set in modern day Los Angeles.
Being a musical family, we loved it! The La La Land score was awesome, with exquisite choreography and cinematography. It’s basically a musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams. Sounds like a chic flick? Nope! Even the guys loved it.
Inspired by La La Land’s classic dancing photo from the movie poster, and Mia’s bright yellow dress, today I’m sharing a delicious menu to help get an Oscar party started in your home! The key ingredient? Lemons and delicious Toffifay chocolates!
3 tips for getting the party started:
Decorate with yellow
Decorate with the colors that represent your favorite movie. Why yellow? Well, just look at Mia [Emma Stone], dancing her heart away with Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician.
The yellow Tassle Garland is from Prospect Goods.
Set out yellow plants, yellow napkins, and a musical instrument!
A fun color theme (yellow), or even twinkly white lights, or going “all gold,” will also help create the perfect atmosphere for an Oscar party (in case you’re not a yellow fan).
The menu
Fancy eats can mean all sorts of things. But you can also have a healthy dinner party! This time we chose to make a delicious Leek Shrimp Linguine (recipe coming soon), Romaine Wedge Caesar Salad (recipe coming soon), and an elegant dessert – all with the flavor of lemons!
Your guests will feel like royalty when they know that you pulled out all the stops for them.
Serve a side of candy
Don’t forget, a delicious candy is always a hit at an Oscar party! Each individual piece of Toffifay begins with chewy caramel, spun into a little caramel cup filled with a whole crunchy hazelnut, smooth chocolate hazelnut filling, and topped with a decadent drop of smooth chocolate. (Toffifay is available at retailers nationwide in 4 piece and 12 piece packages.)
A little history about Toffifay candies: In 1973, Storck combined the four most popular confectionery ingredients in the world, and the unique result was Toffifay. Its popularity in Europe quickly spread, and today, it is loved by young and old alike, in more than 100 countries.

Sparkling Wine!
If there’s ever a time for bubbly, it’s Oscar Night. Uncork bottles of cold 2014 Moscato or Prosecco, and keep your guests’ glasses filled.
Enjoy the Oscars! May all your favorite movies and stars win!

Such a fun post! I still haven’t seen La La Land, since we talked about it in GA. :/ And I’m loving all the yellow – am trying to incorporate more of this sunny color into our kitchen when I repaint it soon. Fun dessert treat, too!
