I’m always cooking with beans, so today I’m sharing with you my new favorite snack.
But first off I want to tell you about Bush’s Beans and the fact that our family really appreciates their product and family commitment. As a company, their philosophy is in line with our family values, so we stock our pantry with beans as often as possible. We eat a lot of beans!
So, more about Garbonzo Beans …
Garbanzo Beans are low in fat and an awesome source of fiber and protein.
Normally I would use them whipped up into a yummy hummus, but we also love this tasty, healthy snack.

Roasted Garbonzo Beans
2 cans Bush’s Garbanzo Beans (also know as Chick Peas)
Sea salt
Your favorite seasoning
Drain and rinse the beans, then pour onto a rimmed baking sheet. Pat dry.

Drizzle olive oil over the beans.
Sprinkle with sea salt and your favorite seasoning.

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until crispy. While baking, shake pan or stir chickpeas to avoid burning.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
If desired, sprinkle and toss with more spices.
Cool and devour!
What are some quick and healthy snacks that you like to make? I’d love to hear if any involve beans?
(I work with Bush’s Beans but they did not pay for me to write this post today.)

Hi, I'm Sandy. Five years ago I stocked up on beautiful glasses from the Dollar Store. As I started writing about dinner parties, I realized that this “icon” portrays a great message.

My mom would love this, and I am having her over this weekend…thanks!
I love apples and almond butter for a quick snack!

We do this too – love them roasted and it’s so much better for you than chips. But you DID mention hummus and now i have a hummus craving….something good to have in the fridge for the weekend crowd.

Mmmm. Thanks for sharing. We love garbanzo beans and eat them lots of different ways–but never roasted!

These look fabulous! I am going to try that this weekend. Do you store on shelf or in refrigerator?

Oooh – great idea! We are a nut-free house for our littlest, so this might be a good substitute to try.

This sounds so good! I love that you used a spice mixture from The Spice House. One of their stores is a couple of blocks from the house. Thanks!

I truly wish I could “do” beans like the rest of the world, but the texture just turns me off. Quick and easy snacks for us are fresh fruits and celery with pb and raisins (ants on a log)!

Thank you sooo much Sandy, I’ve never heard of this! I think I’m going to make some tomorrow night. I usually do the basics when snacking… hummus and pita, salsa and chips and tons of roasted pistachios.

These look so yummy!! I remember my mom buying something like these prepackaged when we were kids. Hummus and Pita is a snack of choice for us too!!

These sound so yummy! I’m definitely going to give them a try. I love hummus but am not so keen on garbanzos on their own. This recipe might change my mind because they’re not raw!

I loved her review of your book. I am going to find it! Thanks. I love to entertain, but still sometimes the stresses and decision making put me off. Sounds like a great resource!

I love these! The husband’s not such a big fan…but then more for me! I little trick I learned from Rachel Ray is to season with coarse salt, granulated garlic and onion, sesame seeds and poppy seeds, and voila! Everything bagel roasted nuts! She does it with mixed nuts, but I tried it with roasted chick peas and it was delicious!

I just turned the oven on to give these a try. I’ll try chili powder but wondering about some other ideas for seasonings.
