Change up the party with these easy pinwheel bites
I was talking to a friend the other day, about how she doesn’t like to host dinner parties anymore because it’s just too stressful–but at the same time, they miss having their friends over. I encouraged my friend to host a brunch!
What a fun thing to do on a weekend, when you have plenty of time to prepare, and enough time in the morning to get it all together. There are so many ways to change up entertaining!
Make ahead this Orange Cranberry Pinwheels Appetizer
She loved that idea. Sometimes I think we need to be inspired to try something new. What works for some people, which seems so effortless, may not work for others. What works at certain times of our lives might need changing up at others.
How to make a pinwheel appetizer
- Mix cream cheese and garlic salt together until well blended. Add 1 teaspoon of fresh squeezed orange juice. Spread evenly over each tortilla.
- In a small bowl, stir together the cranberries and onions. Sprinkle the mixture over the cream cheese spread. Lightly press cranberry/onion mix into cream cheese.
- Roll up tortilla; trim off the ends. Cut each tortilla into about 10 even pieces using a serated knife. Place on a platter and garnish with fresh orange zest!
TIP: If the tortilla is on the stiffer side, microwave for only a few seconds first (to soften up). Then spread the cream cheese, etc.
As life goes from season to season, I’ve learned to be flexible. Many of us worry about our homes … are they perfect enough, what will people think, I don’t have this project or that project done. What will I serve? Where will everyone sit … the list goes on and on.
Let’s let go of things being perfect, and just enjoy the moment!
Easy Pinwheels Appetizer
I tried a new appetizer, which was a hit, Cranberry Orange Pinwheels Appetizer. So fun and festive with a little zest on top!
Just serve on a big platter (or maybe on The Big Board with a few other appetizers?) and you’ve got a party!
We enjoyed them first in the living room with drinks, with Christmas music playing.
It’s very fun to change things up. Maybe it’s my personality, but I do not like to get caught in a rut, always doing the same thing.
Inviting new friends over is perfect for me!
