There’s nothing better than a fresh peach on a hot summer day! Earlier this week we served a fresh dinner with seasonal foods—my favorite kind of meal for summer entertaining. On the menu was this simple Avocado Peach Salad. All you need is fresh peaches and ripe avocados, and it comes together in about 10 minutes.
Fresh Peach and Avocado Salad
Of course, having our loved ones around the table was the best part of the evening. More important than good food, we enjoyed the togetherness–catching up, laughing, always a little bit of “roasting” going on. But it always helps to have beautiful summer produce on the table – like this Peaches and Avocado Salad.

How do you serve Fresh Peach and Avocado Salad?
Back to our meal last night. We served these gnocchi skewers, chicken kebabs, this salad with garden tomatoes, a fresh baguette, and this delicious Peach Avocado Salad. So easy!
We love fresh summer peaches! So much, you may have tried our Fresh Peach Salsa with Mint or Oregold Peaches Quinoa Salad – both so very good!
Tips and substitutions:
- Once you slice the avocados on the peaches, you can refrigerate for up to 1-2 hours, but you’ll need to serve the same day as you make the salad. Avocados don’t really keep more than a day before turning brown.
- Optional to cut the peaches and avocados into cubes (not slices).
- You can use sliced nectarines in place of the peaches, and leave the skin on if you choose.
- We always peel the peaches for this salad. I don’t like the peach skin.
- Replace the lemon with lime for a zippier taste (and the zest).
- Add fresh chopped mint or cilantro or basil on top if you want fresh herbs.
- STORE the salad: Store the leftovers in airtight container, but it won’t be as fresh as the same day it was made. You’ll want to eat right away.

It warms my heart to read about the stage you are in with your kids, I love what you said – it’s an honor. You have always been a mom I look to…
You know I love this salad, so fresh and so summer!!!
Yummm…I plan on trying tonight!
I hear you about the children. One married now…two on the edge of the nest, and little caboose, a bundle of 17 year old guy energy…oh my! It is such a privilege though to watch our children mature and take flight. My more mature neighbor always said, ‘Roots and wings Donna.’ She was so right….deep, roots, great foundation and then wings to soar high. ?
Sandy always loving this salad of yours. One question does the vinegar keep the fruit from turning brown? I was thinking of cutting the fruit into cubes and using it as an appetizer. Thanks and best to you!
That looks different but sounds good and unique. I think for me, something that makes a meal extra-ordinary is my joy and attitude while preparing it. Bummer about the smoke and fires. We were down there one year, can’t remember when, when the huge one outside of sisters was just about out. Crazy! We drove home the “back” way and through where it had burned…so sad the devastation.
