3-Ingredient Delicious Oreo Truffles
Oreo Truffles have been around for years, posted all over the internet, and even on my blog since January 2011. They are so good, easy, and a fun craft project for kids!
Delicious Oreo Truffles
It’s good to bring recipes out of the archives, because they are usually classics, and a fantastic Valentine’s treat! They also last up to three weeks.

Ingredients for Oreo Truffles
- Oreo cookies
- Cream cheese
- Semi-sweet chocolate
- Sprinkles (optional)
How do you make Oreo Truffles?
The base of the truffles are cream cheese and Oreo cookies! We recommend not to use Double Stuf or flavored Oreos, as just the standard work best for this recipe.
- Use a food processor to crush cookies into fine crumbs. Mix cream cheese and crushed (fine crumbs) Oreo cookies together.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls, putting on wax or parchment paper.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Dip balls, using toothpicks or a spoon, into melted chocolate (use double broiler or microwave on 50%).
- Refrigerate another 30 minutes, until chocolate hardens.
Do I need to refrigerate Oreo Truffles?
Since cream cheese is used, you need to refrigerated this recipe. Mainly for food safety, but also because they soften as they sit out at room temperature. You don’t want mushy, warm truffles. They will last in the refrigerator wrapped tightly for 3-4 weeks.
This recipe is so EASY for kids to make, in that they can use their own creativity by adding different flavors and decorations. Years ago, my daughter, Abby, and I had to remind ourselves that how they turn out is not about perfection. I didn’t stand over her to see if they turned out perfectly round, or if they were dipped exactly right. She had success in making them her own (even though it got a little messy)!
Make and give away
What a delicious, tasty treat to give away to teachers, grandparents or even neighbors. Make, decorate, package up and give away.
Random acts of kindness are a great way to illustrate for our kids our love for the people around us. Learning this art of giving will change the way our kids act and think as adults.
I think we’ll be sharing this tasty LOVE with others, by passing some out ourselves this year!
