One might say, these little reminders are “blessings.”
Do you ever get asked to bring an appetizer to a party, and you don’t know what to bring?
Quick cheese and apple appetizer
It only takes a few ingredients and 20 minutes to enjoy this beautiful crostini recipe with your friends. I love an appetizer recipe that has common ingredients. It makes it a favorite go-to, for home, or to bring to a party.
How to make Apple Blue Cheese Crostini
This easy Apple Blue Cheese Crostini Appetizer is loved by all.
Sometimes all you need to do is look in your fridge and see what ingredients you have.
This time I had blue cheese, apples, and thyme.
Running out the door, needing to bring the ingredients to a party to actually make there? This happens all the time!
For this recipe we left off the garlic, because we had a guest allergic to garlic! It’s nice to know ahead of time if there are any allergies.
Mix all the ingredients for the topping at home; on your way to the dinner party, stop by the store and pick up fresh bread.
French bread forms the base for the spiced cheese and apples!
Toast to perfection. Then add the fresh ingredients and serve.
What is bruschetta?
Typically bruschetta is a toasted Italian bread drenched in olive oil, then served with garlic or tomatoes.
Cut the bread and rub with garlic, then drizzle with olive oil and salt, and bake.
Instead of tomatoes, you can use other chopped ingredients. Like apples!
Oh, don’t forget the salt. When toasting the bread, it needs to be salted. SO GOOD!
Bringing an appetizer to a party
Maybe your guests show up to your party with only ingredients, and they need a few minutes to make the appetizer they were asked to bring? No problem!
As a hostess, I’m always happy to toast the bread, or do whatever needs to be done to help prepare and get the food on the table.
Don’t forget if you’re planning a dinner party to delegate.
It “takes a village” to create an awesome dinner party, people’s time, and commitments these days. People aren’t always able to bring a dish “ready to serve.”
Appetizer Tips
- Write down key ingredients you have on hand that you want to use (try to use up a jarred sauce that is already open).
- Set aside 5-10 minutes to find a recipe that works for you.
- Google and find apps to add to your phone.
- Don’t forget to use fresh herbs from the garden or fridge. Herbs always add the “punch” that your recipe needs.
- Don’t waste time and run to the store, when it’s something you can quickly stop and buy on your way to the event (like the bread).
If you ever get in a rut with which appetizer to make for a party, think apples and cheese!
