Honey-Lime Ricotta Bruschetta Recipe
These Honey-Lime Ricotta Bruschetta Recipe are an elegant holiday appetizer, served with pomegrante seeds and frsh basil on top!
Friends, the week is filling up with so much to do!
I’ve found myself baking, wrapping, cooking, enjoying the kids being home.
But also taking the time for walks, sitting and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, the little things that bring me joy, the peace that sustains you at the beginning of the day, the peace that invades you at the close of the day.
Honey-Lime Ricotta Bruschetta Recipe
Last week we made these Honey-Lime Ricotta Bruschetta Recipe for a party that we were attending.
Don’t you love pomegranate seeds during Christmas? I do! They are festive and tasty (you can freeze them, too).
Easy to make, adapted from this Martha Stewart recipe, use a good quality ricotta cheese, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised how delicious these little bites are!
Being away from “home” this year, away at our new mountain home, I’ve received so many photo cards in the mail. (I’ve just finished sending our cards – whew!)
Sitting with a cup of tea and reading through the letters, catching up on snail mail, is one of my favorite things to do.
Snail mail is a real treat! In fact, many wrote hand-written letters and notes to our family. So much appreciated. (And yes, this is one long icicle hanging from the front of our house!)
I Have Come to Bring You Peace is a beautiful poem I stumbled upon, that I wanted to share today.
The holidays can be a painful time for many. I’ve not really experienced this, except the year that my mom died. That was a hard Christmas season. Very hard.
And, by the way, I found the plate where I took mom’s signature off of a Christmas box, and preserved it on the plate.
Keepsakes are the best!
“I Have Come to Bring You Peace”
I have come to bring you peace.
Not the peace of the season, for it is too fleeting,
Not the peace of the carol, for it is too nostalgic,
Not the peace of the greeting card, for it is too slick,
Not the peace of the crib, for it is too wistful.
Rather, I have come to bring you peace,
Peace of the ordinary, the daily, the homely,
Peace for the worker, the driver, the student,
Peace in the office, the kitchen, the farm.
I have come to bring you peace,
The peace of accepting your self as I fashioned you,
The peace of knowing yourself as I know you,
The peace of loving yourself as I love you,
The peace of being yourself as I am who I am.
I have come to bring you peace,
The peace that warms you at the completion of a task,
The peace that invades you at the close of the day,
The peace that sustains you at the beginning of the day,
The peace that reinforces you when you are reconciled with one another,
The peace that touches you when your family is in order.
Without peace, my coming is unfulfilled.
Without peace, my birth is forgettable.
Without peace, Christmas is a contradiction.
I have come to bring you peace.
May you have a peaceful rest of the week!
