Common love of hospitality
So many of my friendships in life and online have been formed through our common love of hospitality! Even in our new town, we’ve been to many homes already for a variety of gatherings. We all love connection and eating together!
I find that food is the binder that brings us all together!
I see how the tides have changed. It use to be, growing up, on a Saturday, we’d stop in to visit friends, or even on a Sunday car drive, we’d pop in to visit our parents’ friends. Hospitality was many times just a glass of water and a good 30 minute chat.
It seems that hospitality is more intentional now, centered around food, if we are going to get together. I mean, we have to eat anyway, so why not share our table with others?
Let’s say dinners just overwhelm you. Then have a few people over for breakfast or brunch!
You can always buy or make your own scones the day before, or pick up some croissants, or if you live in Bend, Oregon …. Ocean Rolls (OMG, so good!) What exactly is an ocean roll? Read about it, here.
Make a healthy yogurt board
This Fresh Fruit Yogurt Platter is the easiest board to assemble for quick and easy morning breakfast hosting!
Plain Greek yogurt is nutrient dense, calorically light, and wonderfully tart, so pair it with your favorite toppings to create a savory, sweet, and salty flavor experience.
Breakfast Fresh Fruit Yogurt Platter
Simply spread your Greek yogurt into a small serving bowl in the center of your board, and place your toppings around it. All of the ingredients can be found at Trader Joe’s (but for the most budget-friendly buy, get the berries, granola, and yogurt at Costco).
Get creative and tailor the board to your taste! We recommend plain yogurt, as it does not have excess added sugar—sweeter yogurt can be achieved by adding a drizzle of honey, fruit, or granola.
You can also serve it with Yogurt Blueberry Pancakes or my Blueberry Yogurt Morning Cake!
And want to make your own Sweet Cardamom Rolls?
Happy hosting!
