Caldera Springs in Sunriver Resort, Oregon
Recently I spent a weekend with 12 of my favorite food and travel bloggers at Caldera Springs in Sunriver Resort, Oregon, sponsored by Sunriver Resort.
Friends, if you’re not familiar with Sunriver Resort, it’s a destination resort in the beautiful high desert of central Oregon, where you can rent luxury homes and cabins for a perfect vacation! With over 300 days of sunshine in Bend, Oregon, there’s so much to enjoy at this resort.
Activities such as 63 holes of championship golf, a world class spa, over 40+ miles of biking trails, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, skiing, and rock climbing. And delicious food, to say the least.
Are you ready to come visit Oregon?

Some of the amenities are: Acres of lakes and streams, and nine miles of natural and paved trails for biking, walking and hiking. My friends and I were hosted by Sunriver Resort, in a beautiful 3,450 sq. ft. home in on Sunstone Loop, in Caldera Springs.
Our house slept 12 comfortably, with plenty of space to spread out and relax, and grand dining table to gather for meals.
The homes in Caldera Springs are ideal for family reunions, group retreats, and even corporate events.
With a giant living room space downstairs, upstairs was another spacious bonus room complete with a couch, chairs, table, TV, stereo, games and two built in bunk beds.
The area we hung out in the most was the wonderful paved back patio, with comfortable patio furniture, a high-end barbecue, and a hot tub. These were the perfect amenities for enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding forest.
We took full advantage of the large kitchen every morning. Storyville Coffee came to make us the best French press coffee.
Not only did we learn about the mission behind Storyville, and how ordering their weekly coffee mail delivery helps free those involved in sex trafficking, we enjoyed the best coffee. Ever.
Ashley from BirdseedFoods.com served our first breakfast, with a delicious yogurt bar.
You can order Ashley’s gluten-free granola online (use code: LIVEWELL for 25% off) and please tell all of your celiac friends about it.
The second morning we were so honored to have our local Whole Foods come serve a waffle bar, and what Bend, Oregon is know for: Ocean Rolls.
With peach compote and delicious whipped cream? Served with a cup of Storyville coffee? We were a spoiled bunch.
Whole Foods also provided local farm flowers from Sweet Posy, here in Bend, Oregon, which is a new line in the Bend Store. Along with breakfast, snacks, flowers, and extra treats, Whole Foods was the local food sponsor for our event.

The weather was perfect, the golden sun was so warm, and the smell of the pines … oh, my.
Mary, Kristen, Brenda, Amanda, Maria, Gina, Erin, Heidi, Cathy, Lori, and Cheryl, I loved spending time with each, with a very special thanks to Cathy for the Noble Pig for the weekend! Cathy’s vineyard is in Oregon, too!
The first night, the bloggers came to my house for dinner, outside under the birch and aspen trees, where I served this giant charcuterie board! We lucked out with the most amazing weather.
Sunriver Tasting Dinner by Sunriver Resort
The second evening, we enjoyed an amazing Sunriver Tasting Dinner, presented by Sunriver Resort Executive Chef Travis Taylor!
Starting off with appetizers such as Kumomoto oysters with pickled green apple, lime, and cucumber granita. Bacon-wrapped plums with basil balsamic, and crostini with roasted beets, goat cheese, pomegranate, and honey. And then seared duck with foie gras raspberry, brioche and pickled cherries.
The Cheese and Charcuterie – perfection!
First course inside was a salad of asparagus, quinoa, and parmesan foam, with a poached egg on top! Second course, Dungeness crab and lobster with lemon and chive. Third course, Central Oregon Grass Fed Beef, Hen of the Forest mushroom risotto, with a huckleberry demi glaze, with stewed toy box tomatoes.
Lastly, this deconstructed carrot cake. Served with walnut brittle, pineapple sorbet, and pickled golden raisins. Fantastic!
We savored every bite! Chef Travis is the head chef for Sunriver Resort, so he oversees a lot of staff and comes up with different menus around the resort.
Truly, I wish we could have bottled up the memories and flavors and scents from this weekend!
We would be rich, indeed!
