Here’s a fun little entertaining secret: I always keep decorative tape + toothpicks on hand for these cute place cards. If I’m in a pinch and need a fun place setting or appetizer label, these two items do wonders. Plus, they are cheap and easy to store!

So today I’m going to show you a quick, extremely easy DIY Flag Place Card Setting.

Here’s what you need:

Tangerines

Tape

Toothpicks

Black Sharpie marker

1. After you grab your toothpicks and decorative tape, decide what you’re going to stick you’re flag in. I happened to have baby oranges on hand (hello pregnancy craving), so I used those. You could use anything though: dinner rolls, truffles, small potted plant, etc. Find something that will add a little pizazz and color to your table.

2. Wrap the tape around the toothpick so the tape sticks to itself in a way that creates a small flag. Use scissors to trim the flag to your liking. Be as creative as you want with the shape and style! If your party is assigned seating, take a sharpie or marker and write guest names on flags. You can also use these for appetizers and write the name of each food dish instead.

3. Give your flag a home and place it on your table in chosen location!
