Friends, try this American take on the classic Russian comfort food, beef Stroganoff. Make it into a baguette sandwich. It comes together fast, and our family devours this. And did I mention it’s perfect for Game Day?
Ground Turkey Stroganoff Baguette Sandwiches
This crispy, crunchy baguette halves are loaded with a homemade beef stroganoff mixture, with melty, bubbly cheese. It’s optional to keep the “tomato” flavor, or add sour cream to the recipe.

Game day Stroganoff Baguette Sandwiches
Since this weekend is the big game, will you be cooking, bringing a potluck dish, hosting, or … shopping? HA. I know not everyone is into Super Bowl, but in case you are, today I’m sharing a yummy sandwich idea: Ground Turkey Stroganoff Baguette Sandwiches.
Stroganoff baguette ingredients
Super simple ingredients, here’s all you need:
- Olive oil
- Onion + green pepper
- Cremini mushrooms
- Ground turkey
- Salt + pepper
- Jar DeLallo Simply Pesto
- Sour cream
- Baguette loaves
- Fresh mozzarella cheese
- Garlic powder
Make the ground turkey meat mixture

- Saute the onion, peppers, and mushrooms. EASY!
- Then in the same skillet, cook the ground turkey until browned. Add salt and pepper. Mix in the pesto and sour cream (optional, but holds together more when you use it).
How to make the baguette sandwiches
- Cut bread baguettes in half lengthwise. Brush with olive oil; sprinkle with garlic powder and toast/broil slightly.
- Lay bottom of baguettes in a 9×13 pan. Place the ground turkey mixture on top, adding sices of mozarella cheese. Broil until cheese is melted.
- Place the other half of baguette on top. Cut into 2-3 inch sub sandwich pieces.
Toast and serve HOT (while cheese is melted) with your favorite salad!

Ground Turkey Stroganoff Baguette Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- ½ cremini mushrooms, chopped
- 1 lb ground turkey, browned
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 6 oz DeLallo Simply Pesto, sun-dried tomato & olive
- ½ c. sour cream, optional
- 2 baguette loaves, horizontally sliced
- Olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 16 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat broiler to HIGH.
Make the meat mixture:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, green pepper, and mushrooms; cook for 4-5 mintues until soft. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the ground turkey until browned, about 7-8 minutes. Add salt and pepper. Mix in the pesto and sour cream (optional, but holds together more when you use it).

These are absolutely delicious. ย I use the sour cream, but next time probably won’t.

These look yummy and that salad looks amazing. My husband is cooking chicken and dumplings and the kids and grandbaby are coming over to watch the game. Haggi looks adorable (I like the scarf). We have a miniature Dachshund who is 13 also. He is our baby!

Okay, these sound so good and these are going to be pinned and made in the near future. I grew up with a variety of dogs but hubby is not a real “pet” person so no indoor pets and so I just decided no pets..though our oldest has a lab that we had for 2 1/2 years here before she got married.
