Make a smaller version

First of all, if this board is intimidating to you, start small.

You can always make a smaller version (cut the recipe in half), or get ideas from it.

And if you’re specifically looking for a Halloween idea, don’t forget The Baker Mama’s Spooky Snack Board.

How to create the board

Here’s what you need to make this board. Fresh sandwich ingredients, like bread, ham, and your favorite toppings! And little chocolate mousse pumpkins from Trader Joe’s!

Oh, fresh apple slices!

  1. Add your favorite mustards or aioli sauce.
  2. To make the cheese slices, using a pumpkin cookie cutter, cut out thin slices of your favorite cheese (Harvarti and cheddar work great!).
  3. Add lettuce, red onion, tomatoes … more of your favorite toppings!

Hosting tips

My blog is all about sharing recipes, ideas, easy hosting tips, and of course, a lot of love and inspiration.

Also, if you start feeling anxious about wanting more, or not feeling satisfied, that means a heart check should be coming your way.

I love this quote that keeps me centered.

“True happiness is to understand our duties toward God and man; to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence on the future; not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears, but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is abundantly sufficient.” –Seneca

EPIC Harvest Party Ham Sandwich Board

I’m thankful for today.

I’m thankful for great opportunities to bring people into our home.

Yes, there are seasons where that’s easier than others. That’s okay.

When the time is right, do it, and ENJOY!

28-inch Charcuterie Board

Friends, here are the boards that I LOVE. A “lip” is the secret to the best charcuterie or dinner board, because the food does not fall off.

LARGE Hand-Carved Gabrielle Tray (gray) – 24 inches round. Buy >> HERE

MEDIUM Hand-Carved Vine Round Tray (white washed) – 20 inches round. Buy >> HERE

SMALL Hand-Carved Gabrielle Tray (gray) – 18-inches round. Buy >> HERE

MEDIUM Willow Hand-Carved Tray (mango wood, gray) – 20.25 inches round. Buy >> HERE

MEDIUM Whitewashed Mosaic Wood Tray (antique white) – 20-inches round. Buy >> HERE

Rememember it says it is “not food safe,” so you need to prepare the board by either laying down parchment paper under the food, or you can “season” it like we did.

Here are a few other (affiliate) options:

Courtland Wooden Lazy Susan – 18-inch round. Buy >> HERE

LAZY SUSAN is a board that spins. It does NOT have a lip, but it’s cool for the center of the table.

Here’s an 18-inch wine barrel wood board or a 24-inch hammered large round tray or a 26-inch stainless steel serving platter that you may also like! Check out the weight on these boards.

How to season a Charcuterie Board

If a wood board says it “not food safe,” you can lightly sand it down with sand paper, and rub down with beeswax and mineral oil.

We used this butcher block and cutting board oil conditioner after we lightly sanded the board down.

Or, lay down parchment paper! Easy peasy!
