Red Lentil Ham Carrot Soup Recipe
Red Lentil Ham Carrot Soup Recipe is a comfort bowl of soup made with leftover ham, lentils, coconut milk, and fresh English peas!
I love our home, a homegirl that I am. I love my husband, our kids, meeting new people, and opening up our home. We laugh a lot in our home. I’m probably the least witty one in our family, so I’m often the last one to get a joke. But family is all about being safe with one another. And we always have a great time around the table.
Red Lentil Ham Carrot Soup Recipe
We love a good comfort soup, especially after the holidays made with leftover ham!
It also makes me think about this: Do your guests feel at home around your table, as your family does, and how do you keep the conversation flowing? If we worry too much about hospitality, it won’t be natural. So how do you keep conversation “natural?”
The other night, as I was sitting back and being thankful for the magnificent gift of simply being together with new friends around our table, I was listening to the group, noticing the quieter ones. Of course there will always be extroverts and introverts at a table–it’s always a nice mix.
There are usually a couple of people who jump right in and make everyone feel at home, which I love. I did notice a quieter person in the bunch, so I made sure toward the end of the evening to ask several questions about her life, so the group could hear, catch the vibe, and chime in.
It worked! We learned more about this person!
There is no magical answer to how a table experience and conversation will go! Just being sensitive to looking for ways to serve, ways to be real, ways to open up, ways to ask questions, is the short answer.

So much flavor and comforting goodness in this soup! I would love a big ‘ol bowl of this right now for lunch, Sandy! xo
Yum. This is definitely getting made. I have never cooked with red lentils. I’ve always used green. And I haven’t used coconut milk in soup either so can’t wait to try.
