How do you cook the shrimp?
Shrimp is the perfect protein to add to a dish, and so easy to cook with. It makes entertaining a breeze! I used extra large frozen shrimp for this recipe, and it was very easy to peel.
- Thaw the shrimp (I thawed quickly by running under cold water for about 7 minutes, then draining well and patting dry.)
- The shrimp is so easy to peel. It only took about 2 minutes to peel the entire bag.
- I cooked the shrimp on medium-high in about 2 tablespoons of butter, lightly sautéing it for about 5 minutes.
- The shrimp is done when the color becomes opaque. It’s really that easy!
I love keeping shrimp on hand for appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, and easy snacks, like sliders!

Serving
Tailgating is similar to inviting everyone to your house for dinner, except you use the back of your car or truck. The food is always the “hit” of the party, so I like to plan ahead, and make sure there’s something very yummy on the menu, just like I’d do in my own home.
Of course, these are great for any party, any time of year. Fun for the holidays like New Years, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas. Everyone loves bacon and shrimp. Or, serve for game day in your home!

Sandy’s Tips and substitutions:
- Optional to leave out the shrimp or the bacon, but it’s delicious with both.
- Best bacon is the thick cut bacon, but if you are in a pinch for time, you can use the pre-cooked bacon.
- Any kind of dinner rolls or slider rolls work! Or use small brioche buns, Hawaiian rolls, potato rolls, or slider buns.
- Best served HOT.
- Swap out the sauce for spicy mayo, aioli, remoulade, chipotle sauce, or garlic butter.
- Cheese is optional, or use your favorite kind of cheese (Swiss, Havarti, Cheddar, Jack).
- Follow the tips for how to cook the shrimp ahead.
- STORAGE: Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Delish re-heated in the air fryer for a great little snack.

Tailgating menu
For our mini party, I made 2 easy shrimp recipes that everyone loves. One, a 9×13 pan of Shrimp Sliders, and the other, a side dish of Shrimp Sausage Mango Kebabs for an appetizer.
It’s berry season, so I made a frozen berry cobbler, our friend brought a miscellaneous bag full of things like drinks, napkins, a few towels, plates, silverware, a bottle opener. Oh, and did I mention chips and salsa? We were set!

I love to make chili in a crock pot and take it to the game. We park at a place where I can plug the crock pot in to keep it warm. I also take all the toppings (grated cheese, onions, etc.). .This makes a wonderful meal on a cool, Fall day!
