8 Tips to Ease into Entertaining with Orange Nutella Bruschetta
This Orange Nutella Bruschetta is bites of creamy Nutella chocolate with mandarin orange on buttery, crunchy toast. Goodness gracious – delicious for a light dessert, too.
Hey, friends … Happy Friday!
Today I thought I’d talk about how to ease into entertaining, how to greet our guests, keep it light, casual, and friendly!
Plus, I’m sharing this yummy Orange Nutella Bruschetta easy peasy appetizer, in case you need a little something to take to a party this weekend, or you’re hosting! We are hosting on Saturday night and I did what I’m good at doing, and what I write about so much here on RE–I delegated!
One family has never been to our home, and in fact, we’ve never met our friend’s husband, and my husband has never met my {childhood} friend. Another childhood couple {2 friends who married each other} has never had dinner in our home. The other couple we’ve entertained a LOT. So we have quite the mixture of guests coming!
When I think of easing in to entertaining, it usually starts at the front door! Here are some easy tips, especially if you’re shy, the guests have never been to your home before, you’re not quite sure how to get the conversation going, or you’re just plain ‘ol nervous.
Don’t be nervous at the front door, ok? Print out this list and go over it several times throughout the day.
8 tips to ease into entertaining.
Rememember entertaining is not about you, it’s about them!
-Are you happy and friendly?
-Keep the conversation going, but don’t apologize for anything – ever!
-Make sure you have fun music playing in the background.
-Make introductions.
-Say something about the person you are introducing, so there is something to talk about.
-Point out similar interests with other guests.
-Make sure you have drinks ready.
-Make sure you have an appetizer ready.
If you haven’t read my post on “introducing others,” you might pick up some tips, here, as well.
Break the ice.
Once the ice is broken … get ready for a good time!
Orange Nutella Bruschetta.
Now for the appetizer. Three easy ingredients I always keep on hand.
-Baguette bread (I keep in the freezer)
-Jar of Nutella
-Can of Mandarin Oranges
You get it – anything with Nutella is yummy! Sprinkle a little salt on top, the perfect appetizer to make when you’re running out of time! Or, the perfect dessert to serve with a little coffee, if you just don’t feel like making a heavy, big dessert.
Have a joyous weekend!
