Caramel Dipped Apple Slices
Everyone loves a good holiday charcuterie board, but this sweet fall appetizer board — full of apple slices and your favorite toppings — will be perfect to serve at your next party! Maybe you’ve tried our Banana Split Honeycrisp Apple Nachos recipe already!
Caramel Apple Charcuterie Board
Check out your pantry and hit the grocery aisle to gather the ingredients. Get as creative as you want, and as I’ve always said — there are no rules with boards. I used pre-made caramel sauce and Nutella, and everyone loves peanut butter!
Think of what you have that goes good with apple slices and treats that can stick to the apples.
Grab the Big Board (a board with a lip, so the food doesn’t fall off), and these delicious toppings:
- Variety of Apples: For this board we used Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples. Gala apples are also nice and crisp.
- Dips: We filled small bowls with store-bought heated up caramel, Nutella, and peanut butter.
- Dipping Toppings: Keep it simple and set out your favorite toppings like M&Ms, coconut, granola, Oreo cookies, and crunchy and sweet treats.
Equipment needed
- A large board (with a lip around the outside) – we have 3 colors and sizes of boards (buy The Big Board)
- Bowls to hold sauces and toppings
- Wooden skewers for dipping the apples, or small plates for guests to serve themselves
How to assemble an apple dipping board
- On a large charcuterie board, add the toppings in small bowls. Place on the board in a circular pattern to form a wreath.
- Fill the peanut butter, caramel, and Nutella in 3 small bowls and place on the board (keep the circular pattern).
- Use a sharp knife or apple slicer to cut the apples into slices. To prevent them from browning, squeeze fresh lemon juice on the apple slices; drain.
- Place the apple slices on the board. Fill in any other spaces in the “wreath” with the various toppings, to form a circle on the board.
When to serve a Caramel Apple Board
- Serve a big board filled with a variety of sliced apples, caramel, peanut butter, and other yummy dippers. Shape it like a wreath for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
- Make this board for your next party, play date, or family activity. We love it for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and any kid party—any time of year. Even adults love dipping apple slices into creamy caramel, peanut butter, or Nutella, and then dipping in their favorite toppings! Such a fun and festive treat!
- Stack the apples, caramel, and ingredients on your board. This is a true finger food, and no toothpicks are needed for dipping.
Optional to make a plate of apple nachos
Serve with small plates and everyone makes their own plate of goodies!
