Ruby Princess Creamy Cottage Cheese Salsa Dip
This Creamy Cottage Cheese Salsa Dip was inspired by, and created in partnership with, my recent trip with Princess Cruises on the Ruby Princess ship!
On our recent Mexican Riviera Princess Cruise on the Ruby Princess ship, along with enjoyable culinary experiences, my husband and I were committed to working out daily (if possible), and enjoying the Lotus Spa and Fitness, the pool, and The Sanctuary (a luxurious spa-inspired top deck retreat, reserved just for adults) as much as possible.
There’s nothing quite like the tropical sun, and the warm ocean breeze!
Working out with a buddy makes exercising so much more enjoyable, and Paul and I went to the gym together as much as we could. The Fitness Centre on the Ruby Princess is located on the 16th deck at the front of the ship. What a view we had!
The fitness center offered 22 treadmills, 8 cross trainers, 20 spinning bikes, 5 stationary bikes, 1 rowing machine, 18 weight training machines and a free weight area. All of the electric-powered machines have personal television monitors, and headphones are provided with disposable ear pads.
They also offer exercise and spinning courses and yoga every day of the week.
The jogging deck is also a great place to get in a run on the ship, a few decks above the waves. Not only are you getting a good work-out in, whether running or walking, but you take in a glorious, peaceful ocean view.
Lotus Spa & Fitness
When it comes to rejuvination and spa treatments on the ship, Princess’s goal is to return their weary travelers to the world renewed! And we got in on a little bit of this heaven …
Since my hubby and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary, we signed up for a couples massage! They offer this service inside, and also outside on the cabana.
Come back new? Yes, indeed.
At the Lotus Spa, you can choose from a variety of treatments, such as aroma stone therapy massages, and detoxifying ocean wraps. You can also enjoy a manicure and pedicure in their salon!
The Sanctuary
Right outside the Lotus Spa, you can walk out into a private area, a luxurious spa-inspired top deck retreat called The Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary features plush lounge furniture, attentive Serenity Steward service, soothing music, healthy beverages and spa fare, and even open-air massages in your own private cabana!
My hubby and I hung out here after our spa treatment, relaxing, enjoying the quiet, peaceful ocean air, sipping on lemon water, and lounging in our robes.
The group of bloggers that I was with all hung out together and got the 5-star treatment. (Julie, me, Lori, Sandra, and Dara.)
Hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
Several rounds of tasty treats.
The first day on the ship we sipped coolers by the pool. (The most delicious Long Island Ice Tea drinks – ever!)
And worked on our tans.
Creamy Cottage Cheese Salsa Dip
One of my favorite appetizers served was a simple cottage cheese salsa dip! I’m always inspired by new ways of creating recipes, and this one was just too easy!
Last week, inspired by our Sactuary experience on the ship, I made my own dip in the blender.
With a few dashes of red pepper on top!
Served with our favorite chips.
Another great recipe that uses on-hand ingredients, for last-minute guests!
