Easy Cheese Board Recipe

I love the word “feast.” It’s what we do best when we come together to celebrate special occasions in our world. We open the doors, eat and drink sumptuously, our friendships grow, and we are changed. I love to call it, “feasting on life.”

Put it together like this. Click over to my Instagram @reluctantentertainer and you can see a time lapse video of me putting this board together. (22,000 views – so fun!)

A reader wrote and shared a great idea. They are in a supper club that rotates houses. Whoever hosts chooses the menu and main dish and everyone else works around that.

The host focuses on quality ingredients and one special dish.

But most of the time they potluck charcuterie items! Super fun!

Everyone else comes together with the additional ingredients, and puts together an amazing spread!

What should be on a charcuterie platter?

  • Smoked, dry-cured or cooked meats. We added a smoked pepper wild chinook salmon.
  • Cheese. Have you ever tried Dorothy’s softe ripened cheese? WOW! (Buy in the gourmet section.)
  • Smoked Salmon Dip, nuts, and fruit. (You can use a store-bought cheese dip if you don’t have time to make homemade).

MY BOARD: I bought this Lazy Susan beautiful board from a little store in Bend, Oregon (Abode Home). Smaller than my epic board, for a more intimate party! (Plus, it spins!)

What do you think about potlucking a charcuterie? Please share your ideas or concerns and let’s get this figured out.

I think sometimes people just don’t think to ask what they can bring, but if you include an idea in your email or text, they are more than happy to contribute to the meal!

Fill in the gaps with fresh herbs

Oh, and guess what? I didn’t have any fresh herbs to fill in the gaps, but my goal for a charcuterie is not to make it perfect, but simply inviting and delicious for you and your guests!

Any way to increase “feasting on life” is our goal!
