Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board - Icerink Booties

Friends, I started a charcuterie craze on my blog and social media a year ago, but more importantly in my home. Entertaining with charcuterie boards is our new favorite way to #MoveFor the Holidays.

This entire holiday season our goal on RE is to come alongside readers, to inspire those who desire to create more lasting memories and deepen current relationships with your loved ones, by sharing easy hosting ideas. [INFO ON THIS BOARD BELOW!]

Sometimes this may mean opening your home to new friends, too. It’s important with hospitality to foster new, authentic relationships.

For the holidays, serving an Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board is a great place to start. Or, you may love my Party Ham & Cheese Rolls Charcuterie Board or

How to make an Epic Charcuterie Board

  1. On a very large board (preferably with a lip on it), line the outer edge with rows of crackers.
  2. Prepare cocktail sauce (or buy store-bought), and place in a bowl in the center on a large plate.
  3. Prepare the frozen (or fresh) shrimp and place/layer around the cocktail sauce.
  4. Arrange a ring of parsley and cherry tomatoes around the shrimp plate.
  5. Place 2 small bowls of mozzarella balls and olives on the board.
  6. Fill in the open areas with hard cheese, meats, and nuts.
  7. Garnish the cocktail sauce with fresh parsley. Don’t forget the serving utensils.

Serve and ENJOY!

Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board

The beauty of this Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board is that you can bring your people together in one sitting, and let everyone dig in.

The art of hospitality really shouldn’t look different today, than it did 50 yeas ago when my mom hosted people in her home.

Holiday Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board

It’s still about love, authenticity, and bringing people together over a bite to eat.

What may look different today is the process of getting there. It doesn’t have to be a sit-down dinner party. It can be a casual gathering.

Charcuterie Boards are casual and fun

This is why I love to serve charcuterie boards. They are casual and fun.

The community that we all crave in our culture today is real. As a true believer in the Christmas message, it should revolve around love.

So don’t get overwhelmed by hosting a sit-down dinner, or a big party.

DIG IN - Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board

Everyone loves shrimp cocktail.

For me, the holiday season SCREAMS fresh shrimp and a delicious cocktail sauce! You can make your own or just buy it in the store. Trader Joe’s has a yummy spicy variety.

Bring the platter or large board to one serving area, and let everyone dig in.

Easy Spirit Icerink Ankle Booties

As a hostess, I love to be comfortable when I entertain. This means welcoming guests, and saying goodbye to guests.

The ankle booties I’m wearing are my new favorites. Made by Easy Spirit, they are a cross between a warm winter boot and a nice cozy slipper. They are orthotic-friendly, too, with a special stitching across the vamp with faux fur.

I love how easy they are to get on and off, with features such as a side zipper, and that fact that they are ultra comfy! They also have a rubber sole designed to provide cushioned walking and rebound with each step for all-day comfort.

They are light and easy to wear, even when I entertain!

Best Epic Shrimp Cocktail Charcuterie Board

28-inch Charcuterie Board

Friends, here are the boards that I LOVE. A “lip” is the secret to the best charcuterie or dinner board, because the food does not fall off. [This post has affiliate links. Every purchase from these links supports RE at no extra cost to you. Thank you!]

Rememember it says it is “not food safe,” so you need to prepare the board by either laying down parchment paper under the food, or you can “season” it like we did.

Here are a few other (affiliate) options:

Courtland Wooden Lazy Susan – 18-inch round. Buy >> HERE

LAZY SUSAN is a board that spins. It does NOT have a lip, but it’s cool for the center of the table.

Here’s an 18-inch wine barrel wood board or a 24-inch hammered large round tray or a 26-inch stainless steel serving platter that you may also like! Check out the weight on these boards.

How to season a Charcuterie Board

If a wood board says it “not food safe,” you can lightly sand it down with sand paper, and rub down with beeswax and mineral oil.

We used this butcher block and cutting board oil conditioner after we lightly sanded the board down.

Or, lay down parchment paper! Easy peasy!
