fried angel cake with ganache

Oh, I love a summer dessert with fresh strawberries. This Fried Angel Food Cake Strawberry Shortcake with a chocolate ganache is fantastic, and I love that you can use store-bought angel food cake, or you can make a homemade cake.

Fried Angel Food Cake Strawberry Shortcake

Our Fried Angel Food Cake is served with summer berries and a quick, easy ganache drizzle on top. It’s a fun twist to the traditional Strawberry Shortcake. You fry the base (angel food cake bar), and it’s topped with sweetened strawberries and a chocolate ganache.

Why I love this recipe

  • The dessert is a rich, chocolaty fruity dessert, which pairs well for Spring and Summer.
  • Buy store-bought angel food cake. You can buy fudge sauce (I use Trader Joe’s), or you can make your own ganache. The day before, slice the strawberries. EASY!
  • Bring it deconstructed to a potluck, and serve it fresh for dessert with homemade vanilla ice cream.
