Summer Grilled Cheese Dinner Tray
Serve a Summer Grilled Cheese Dinner Tray with cheesy hot grilled cheese sandwiches, along with fresh fruit and a chocolate nosh!
Friends, how about a smaller tray filled with grilled cheese and summer fruit and a chocolate nosh for Memorial Day? Or how about lunch for dinner?
Summer Grilled Cheese Dinner Tray
I think with so many of us hosting on a smaller scale now (hopefully not forever!), this grilled cheese tray is a great idea! This actual tray is no longer available, but that’s okay! Grab all the details here, to get The Big Board, which is perfect for a grilled cheese sandwich board!
The feeling of home
I’m more in love with my home now than ever, and part of this is from being home so much the last couple of months. I have a new appreciation, do you?
It reminds me of this quote, and the feeling of “home.”
“The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back.”― C.S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces
Thank you C.S. Lewis!
Our home, even though we’re still finishing up a few remodeling projects, feels so warm and homey, a credit I award entirely to our comfy beds, our beloved Alder, and that we have each other.
Oh, then then there’s a yummy dinner that’s served every night, and we get to eat together.
Ingredients for this tray:
- Dave’s Killer Bread
- Garlic & Dill Cabot Cheddar Cheese and Garlic Cheddar Cheese (we used 2 kinds)
- Butter
- Fresh strawberries, apricots, and cherries
- Chocolate covered almonds
- Brownie bites
- Salami slices
This tray is no longer available!
Maybe you already follow The Big Board ideas, so grab those, and use this tray on a smaller scale. You can also make these Grilled Caprese Skewers (with cheese).
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Earlier this week, we had lunch for dinner. Do you ever do that? Grilled cheese (yum), with fruit and maybe even with tomato soup? Last year, Abby made this Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup Board at college. If you haven’t tried this Best Orange Basil Tomato Soup, you must!
Have you tried Cabot Cheese? Their flavors are out of this world. Cabot Cheese and Dave’s Killer Bread … the perfect pair.
This time we used Garlic & Dill Cheddar Cheese and Garlic Cheddar Cheese for the sandwiches.
How to make Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
- Arrange 16 pieces of bread on the counter and butter one side. Slice the cheese. For 8 sandwiches you need 12 oz. of cheese.
- Heat a large grill on your stovetop and place the buttered sides of bread down.
- Place the cheese on top; lay another piece of bread on top (butter side up). After a couple of minutes, flip the grilled cheese sandwich over.
Oh so good. Make them on a giant grill (if you have one, or use a frying pan and keep hot in the oven).
Right before serving, arrange them on a tray with other foods, and serve!
ENJOY!
Happy Memorial Day weekend, Friends!

I just got a white enamel tray at Target from Magnolia for such a great price and it’s 3″ longer and got the matching condiment bowls. I can’t want to use it. Your boards inspire me.
I will be using it for the Chicken salad croissant sandwiches etc., as soon as we can have groups of friends over.
Thank you for your Recipes and Inspiration!
