Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup Board
Today I’m sharing a delicious, easy way to host: Serve a Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup Board, served with Best Orange Tomato Basil Soup!
Old friends are sturdy and easy, and you don’t really have to think much. Hosting just falls into place.
But new friends can … well, honestly, cause you to sweat a little. What will they think of me? Will they like what I’m serving? Is my house clean enough?
Such silly questions that we remind ourselves of, when really we should be thinking, I can’t wait to get to know them, my food is good enough, how can I encourage them today?
Every hosting moment is so unique. But honestly, I still get a little nervous, even when serving a simple meal, like tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

What is good with grilled cheese?
Tomato soup. This is a classic grilled cheese side, and for good reason! …
Salad. A good grilled cheese needs a salad of fresh lettuce with nuts, pear or apple, and a goat or blue cheese.
Fries. Sweet potato fries are our favorite.
Cookies. Try my Gluten-Free Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cookies.
I know, I’ve been given the gift of hospitality. I knew it at a young age and had the best mom who mentored me. Later in life, I learned from other women who I watched and gleaned from. But I still get nervous!
Sometimes the gifts we’ve been given, the things we might actually do well, still cause us to sweat. [hand raised]
What I’ve learned is that practicing hospitality doesn’t just happen, because you’ve been given the gift. No, it requires obedience and grit.
Grit, like actually inviting, coming up with a simple meal, bringing people together. It takes action, time, and yes, money.
Today my simple Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Board is super fun if you’re planning a casual luncheon or even a light dinner for guests!
