HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Paint for #MountainHome
Welcome to our home where we recently painted our great room with HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint, creating a beautiful living space!
Friends, I’ve been dying to share with you the transformation of our mountain home here in central Oregon! We had very little time to get started with our renovation, because our move-in date kept getting pushed back. But finally (with a lot of patience), our boys were able to join us (between work and college finals), for the grand push to get our living space and great room painted and ready to move in!
We do plan to replace the lighting, since these chandeliers are from 1984.

We did it! Thanks also to HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint!
We decided to use this premier brand of paint because of the design expertise of HGTV HOME, and the legendary quality of Sherwin-Williams—the perfect combination for our project here in the woods and high desert of central Oregon.
With this home surrounded by so many trees, we knew the continual shade would drown out the brightness and ambient light that could really make this home pop, which is why we decided to paint this beautiful great room and fireplace a soft linen-y white.
Or, some may say a very light gray.
Paint color: Nuance White
We call it – NUANCE.
Shopping at Lowe’s, HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint was easy to pick out, and it gave me the confidence and guidance I needed to select the right colors. I was also inspired by one of my best friends, Laurel’s, home, as she painted her entire house this color. Gorgeous!
Now for the nitty-gritty.
The before.
The after.
This CS Lewis quote slays me every time. It perfectly speaks to my heart’s desire of what our home should be. I love the mountains, and my husband and I have always dreamed of having a cabin or a home, with the great outdoors as a backdrop.
“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” – CS Lewis
And here we are.
Renovating a small home in the woods.
Just saying, friends, I really love this Nuance White color, so peaceful on the inside, so that the beauty from God’s gracious colors can speak from the outside.
We also painted the fireplace a Paris Gray chalk paint (Annie Sloan), inspired by Melissa at The Inspired Room. Now the fireplace pops!
Both the morning glow, and the afternoon light streaming through the windows, are fabulous.
Oh, and I just made our first batch of cookies in this house. Recipe to come, I promise!
So now you’ve seen the front and the back of our home. But what’s going on at the side?
A kitchen remodel. More to come! :)
This post is sponsored by HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams, who provided us with the paint for our new home! As always, all opinions are my own.
So pretty Sandy! What a difference a beautiful paint can make! I’m loving the new house… such gorgeous floors, fun blue wood stove, amazing ceilings! I can’t wait to see what you do with the kitchen too!
Kitchen is a work in progress for sure … but it’s coming along. Come visit me, Glory!
So lovely! I’m drooling over your couch! It’s stylish, yet big enough to fit lots of people. So you have any info on it?
I’m thinking that it’s a ROWE sectional, Jenny, but I’ll get back with you. It’s durable, strong, and we LOVE it. Comfy, seats a lot. I got it at TerraFirmaHome.com in Medford, Oregon!
wow! I love what you’ve done so far Sandy!! it’s always amazing to see how a pint can transform a space!!
Thanks, Chery! :)
Wow! What a huge difference. So fun and exciting!
SO pretty. And those chandeliers are almost retro enough to be back in style! I kind of like them. :)
I sort of like them, too, Melissa. Deciding what to do. The ducks in the kitchen though, time to go bye bye! :)
So excited for you. We moved into a lake home in North Carolina 6 years ago…this home was unlivable! We have the same ceilings as you..but the previous owners painted the beams white…not loving it. I had such a hard time finding a wall color to go with the ceilings. Have fun…remodeling is such an adventure. Excited to see all the changes!
I saw that look on Pinterest, the white beams. Because ours were in such good shape, and go so well with the cedar ceiling, we decided to not paint them. I’m glad! :) Would love to see your home, too!
It’s so pretty! I can’t wait to see more of your new home.
Looking great!!!
Lovely! Great transformation!
Wow! Looks great! Cannot wait to see more.
