Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer are the perfect holiday appetizer served with fresh rosemary on top, the herb of “friendship.”

Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer

Dressing a holiday table can be a treat, even more than cooking a meal, for those who love to entertain. Add a delicious Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer appetizer to the party? Your guests will love you!

Really knowing and loving the family and friends who will be gathering around our table this year–the importance of giving thanks for these wonderful people and so many blessings–is the icing on the cake for a hostess.

Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer

I served this delicious Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer at this dinner party. Yes, friends … have you ever had an appetizer served on a ladyfinger? Well you’re in for a great surprise, a mouthful of pure happiness! Ladyfingers (Savoiardi in Italian) are small, delicate sponge cakes that are shaped like large, rather fat fingers.

It’s also the season for cooking with pears and apples, as they’ve never tasted better. Mix in goat cheese, honey, pecans, and my favorite “winter herb,”—rosemary on delicious ladyfingers.

Set this plate of goodness out, and it will be devoured before you know it!

Today I’m showing you a very easy, beautiful, table setting for the holidays.

Set the table.

Basically, when setting a table, there’s no right or wrong. My only pet peeve is a cluttered table, or one where the centerpiece is so huge, or tall, that the guests have a hard time conversing around it. The point of coming together at a table is to talk, and get to know one another. It’s intimate and powerful. We don’t need a gaudy “something” in the middle of the table interfering.

My table today is simple and beautiful, thanks to my friends at Q Squared, and let me tell you what I know about their product, and why I’m so excited for this holiday season!

Today I’m showing you a mix of several patterns. Mix and match, and keep entertaining fun and easy! And, by the way, I can’t get over the fact that these dishes are melamine! Can you?

I balanced the Heritage Collection (dinner and salad plates) with the Peony Collection (soup bowls). Love the little appetizer plates as well, which also work great for dessert plates.

I added small canning jars down the center of the table with Gerbera Daisies, and a mix of other fall flowerers.

One center pumpkin, with small pumpkin accents.

Paper napkins (yes, it’s just fine to use paper napkins for holiday meals!)

Dollar Store small blue water glasses.

I laughed when my daughter reminded me the napkins in the glasses were a bit old-fashioned. I love bringing back “old ways” and incorporating them into “new ways.”

Color theme.

Like I said earlier, when setting the table, there’s no wrong or right. However, colors are important. Picking a color theme for dishes, flowers, and all the essentials is important so it all ties together.

Perfect is overrated.

But remember folks, setting the table does not mean it has to be perfect.

Perfect is overrated, so a feeling of porcelain, china, glass, paper, colored, vintage—mixed with a little fanciness, works for me!

Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer

These Honey Crisp and Goat Cheese Ladyfinger Crostini Appetizer are the perfect holiday appetizer served with fresh rosemary on top, the herb of friendship. I’ve found that DeLallo’s Savoiardi Ladyfingers are the very best.

Ingredients

  • 12 count Ladyfingers, I use DeLallo’s Savoiardi Ladyfingers
  • 1 large Honey Crisp apple
  • 2 oz. goat cheese, softened
  • 4 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 cup spicy pecans, finely chopped (I buy at Trader Joe’s but any pecans will do, as long as toasted)
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh rosemary, finely chopped

Instructions

  • Lay each ladyfinger out on a serving tray. Spread each one with softened goat cheese.
  • Thinly slice the apple, placing a slice on each ladyfinger.
  • Drizzle with honey; sprinkle with chopped pecans and fresh rosemary.
