Most of our August days have been a whirlwind, with so much activity and summer fun. But then, again, there are days of the week where we intentionally slow down and do almost nothing. We need those days. [August is the month where on my walks, I run into these guys with fuzzy antlers.]
August rushes by …. by Elizabeth Maua Taylor
I love this poem, and wanted to share it with you:
August rushes by like desert rainfall,
A flood of frenzied upheaval,
Expected,
But still catching me unprepared.
Like a match flame
Bursting on the scene,
Heat and haze of crimson sunsets.
Like a dream
Of moon and dark barely recalled,
A moment,
Shadows caught in a blink.
Like a quick kiss;
One wishes for more
But it suddenly turns to leave,
Dragging summer away.

We love Shishito peppers. I blister them in a dry cast iron skillet and serve with a sour cream, lemon zest and lemon juice dipping sauce. Will try your idea of dipping in soy sauce
That is the way I’ve always cooked them, until yesterday when I used my air fryer. Spritzed them with olive oil, preheated 350, cooked 8 minutes shaking once Excellent! Salt and lemon juice is our preference
