My daughter’s on a cooking roll this summer. We’ve been hosting so many friends—very fun, but also tiring!

In between cooking and company, we’ve had to clean our house! We have all-wood floors, except for the brick floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. We love the floors, with no plans to change them, but they require regular cleaning!

It seems that we get the house nice and clean, and within a few hours, our stuff begins to multiply again. Do you ever feel that way?

I’m really trying to pick up every night before we go to bed, so when we wake in the morning, the house is nice and fresh. Last night I roped my family in to helping me … it took about 10 minutes max!

I don’t feel like I’m on a regular cleaning pattern here in this house yet. I know that my friend Melissa, at The Inspired Room, has some great tips for cleaning. I also LOVE Mrs. Meyer’s Clean products, which my friend stocked me up on, for a housewarming gift (so clever). My fave!

The bottom line about a clean house? It does help waking up in the morning refreshed, actually able to get to the espresso machine (all nice and clean) for a cup of coffee–the front porch area or living area picked up, ready for coffee, reading, and silence. There’s just something about order–not chaos–that inspires my heart.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about being prepared for the day, so I can be my best.

I’m still finding my way …

Also, delicious served with this Pickled Mango Cucumber Salad, because they are, afterall, Thai tacos.
