Oh, I love a good chocolate chip cookies. Especially healthy whole wheat chocolate chocolate chip cookies, a recipe that is so good to enjoy with a glass of milk. The problem is, you can’t stop at just one cookie.

Whole Wheat Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
Whether you love cookies or brownies, these are doubly good with double chocolate (chunks and cocoa). I buy the large chocolate chunks at Trader Joe’s. Don’t forget you can double the batch and freeze for later!

Gather these ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup avocado oil
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. coconut milk beverage
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 cup large baking chocolate chunks
How do you make Whole Wheat Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In mixer bowl, combine oil, egg, vanilla, and milk. Mix and set aside.
- In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients—flour, cocoa powder, salt, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder. Mix together.
- Add dry mix to wet mixture; mix well.
- Roll cookie dough into 2 inch balls.
- Place the balls of dough on a parchment-lined pan, about 2-inches apart.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes.
Tips and substitutions:
- Remember that you can always substitute butter for avocado oil, dairy milk for coconut beverage, and brown sugar for coconut sugar, if you don’t have any in your pantry.
- Makes about 24 cookies.
- Swap out the chocolate chips for other flavored chips or white chocolate chips (butterscotch is good, too).
- Make and freeze.
