Scarecrow Cookies Bake Sale Treats!
The original idea came from Family Fun Magazine years ago, from my friend Skip to My Lou’s Cindy Hopper! These are perfect for October and any upcoming parties you may have this month!
Ingredients for Scarecrow Cookies on a stick
- Butter
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Cold milk
- Baking soda + salt
- Flour
Frosting:
- Butter
- Milk
- Powder Sugar
- Vanilla
How to decorate the cookies:
Here’s what you need to make the cute scarecrows.
The hat is made from sugar wafers, the band on hat and the smile are Twizzlers (pulled apart into individual pieces), the eyes are upside down chocolate chips, the nose is a candy corn and the hair is pieces picked from Kashi GOLEAN Cereal.
- Wafer cookies
- Chocolate Chips
- Candy corn
- Twizzlers
- Black and red ties
- Kashi GOLEAN Cereal
-
I used Wilton 4 X 9 1/2 inch Party Bags for packaging.
- Mini hay bales (Hobby Lobby)
- 8″ wood sticks
Make the sugar cookies on long 8″ sticks so you can stick them into a small hay bale (find at Hobby Lobby).
What a cute way to display the cookies so they can be sold individually.
This yummy sugar cookie recipe works great for these. You can use store bought frosting in the tub, but oh they are so much better with the homemade frosting. This sugar cookie recipe makes a ton of dough and it freezes beautifully.
