Friends, just in time for getting rid of the winter blues, I’m sharing a beautiful tablescape today with an easy dessert, Baked Caramel Cinnamon Bananas Recipe. Plus a little inspiration to help motivate you.
Are you ready?
Do you ever use this word, should?
I really should try this recipe, we really should invite these people over, we have new neighbors, we really should get over to meet them? I should bring that family a meal.
No word may be more damaging than the word “should.” I don’t know about you, but I use it a lot.
So this year, instead of using the word, should, I’m going to actually do the things I know my heart is telling me to do. Using should makes me feel guilty, unhappy, or annoyed with myself. It helps me procrastinate, and that’s another rabbit hole you don’t want to go down.
Setting a pretty table for company is one thing I like to do. Now sometimes I run out of time, so no biggie.
Other times I set the table the day before. Both kinds of hospitality work for me!
A set table gives me inspiration and motivation to work hard to make my entertaining moments all they can be.
So get your pretty dishes out, and DO IT. You really should :)
Set the table. Plan an easy menu, and invite people into your home this winter! (Beautiful blue melamine dishes from Q Squared!)

When my husband and I went on a hike, he lovingly cut a beautiful manzanita branch for me.
Over the holidays, we enjoyed it on our side table, but then, for this lovely dinner party, I hung it with fishing wire from the light fixture.
Bright and beautiful, to clear out those winter cobwebs and add a touch of light to the table.
Do you ever get in a bind, where you have the menu planned, but maybe ran out of time to make dessert?
That happened to me!

Seriously! I was just catching up on some days I missed in Shauna’s book Savor, and just read about “should”. So good!!!! Thanks for re-affirming that thought! It’s so true too!
