Friends, this is the week of Easter! I LOVE hosting dinner parties for my friends and family for any holiday or special occasion, but this time of year?

Creamy Deviled Eggs Appetizer Recipe

The newness of life, fresh flowers, and the meaning of Easter, mean so much to me. And here’s an easy appetizer: Creamy Deviled Eggs Appetizer Recipe.

This time I set the table with my mom’s white linen tablecloth, fresh ranunculus flowers, white dishes, and galvenized metal chargers (I bought at a yard sale years ago, they are my favorite!)

And for Easter, a side of deviled eggs, right?

Always. If you want to know how to boil the perfect hard-cooked egg, follow these directions. They turn out perfect every single time!

I love classic deviled eggs. The kind that my mama served for Easter!

A fun way to serve them is on an egg dish (throw in a few jelly beans), and I added fresh chives for the center.

And then garnished them with fresh chopped chives.

Easter menu

Easter brings back special memories for me. Besides always getting a new dress, shoes, and usually a purse, I remember a holiday meal prepared by my mom or her sisters, always consisting of ham, potatoes (have you tried ham gravy? soooo good and salty!), and all the sides dishes, such as green beans, Shrimp Louie salad, homemade dinner rolls, sweet potatoes, and asparagus.

Now I’m hungry!

We never had gourmet breakfast casseroles, crepes, or croissants, but instead just the classic American ham and potato meal, right after church, a sit-down dinner!

Feasting on life

Who will you be inviting for Easter, Friends? When we exchange some kind of affection, or kindness, or sharing a meal together, we can partake in a love feast.

Feasting on life together is so incredibly nourishing to our souls. It’s more than a potluck, even though the food aspect is important.

Benjamin Franklin says, “If you would be loved, love and be lovable.”

If you feel love, express it. Invite others into your home, into your feast, where people can show up and be loved. Feasting on relationship investing is more than a feeling, it’s love in action.

Set the table

Again for the table, keep it simple.

Place your favorite flowers in the center.

Drinks to the side. Cloth napkins are beautiful, but paper napkins are, too!

This classy “classic” Strawberry Honey Brie with Toasted Walnuts.

If you’re lucky, maybe you can eat outside this year!

Ingredients

  • 10 eggs, hard cooked
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • Few tablespoons of milk or cream, as needed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chives, for garnishing

Instructions

  • Using a sharp knife, slice each cooled, cooked egg in half. Place the yolks in a small mixing bowl. Place the white halves into a container until you are ready to complete the appetizer for serving.
  • To the yolks, add all of the ingredients. Use your hand mixer to beat the mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • If you don’t have a deviled egg platter, then you can cover a standard plate with lettuce leaves, so the eggs don’t slide around.
  • Scoop the mixture into the eggs (or use piping or a ziplock bag with the corner snipped). Garnish with chives (optional); serve!
