Kimpton Rowan Hotel Palm Springs CA
Looking for a sophisticated, high-spirited boutique hotel in Palm Springs? Follow along as I share my experience at the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel in sunny Palm Springs California, with a review of their Juniper Table restaurant serving delicious Mediterranean food!
Palm Springs
Friends, a few weeks ago I was in sunny California at the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel for a “sisters weekend.” Did we luck out with the most glorious weather in the world, or what?
They say it was warm for this time of year, so we enjoyed the pool every day, a hike, bike riding, the zoo, the tram, and of course a lot of shopping.
And amazing food.
Kimpton Rowan Hotel Palm Springs CA
You’ll find this Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel nestled in the center of downtown Palm Springs.
The hotel has a modern feel, with dreamy and refreshing guestrooms, which offer your own private view.
Surrounded by golf courses and beautiful palms, we heard the glorious church bells ringing every half hour, absolutely soothing to the ear.
First and only rooftop pool in Palm Springs CA
Wander atop the seven-story hotel to the the first and only rooftop pool, where we spent a lot of sister time in the sun, with stunning views.
There are shaded cabanas, and festive cocktails, craft beer from local Coachella Valley breweries, and refreshing California wine, served at the poolside High Bar.
We took many refreshing dips, and snuck away with our books and magazines to the luxurious poolside cabanas with our mimosas!
In the afternoons, the San Jacinto Mountains become the perfect backdrop for a Palm Springs sunset.
Rooms
There are 153 spacious rooms, with fabulous desert views. The Jacinto Mountains – be still my heart.
After coming in from the heat, the rooms were soothing and a breath of cool air, with a shared patio overlooking the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains.
The lobby
The lobby is spacious with cozy seating for everyone! In the morning, a coffee hour. In the evening, the hotel offers Happy Hour with free cocktails.
The staff at the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel were more than approachable.
The lobby bar at night.
And during the day.
I’ve stayed in many Kimpton hotels, and they for sure are pet lovers! At every Kimpton Boutique Hotel, they invite their guests to bring furry, feathery or scaly family members — no matter their size, weight, or breed, all at no extra charge.
Fitness and bikes
At Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel, the fitness options are many, from the fitness center, to the complimentary public bikes for taking a spin around town, or head into the canyons for a full-on hike.
We rode around the neighborhoods of Palm Springs looking for the Brady Bunch House (kidding, but every house was similar).
Juniper Table
We ate many meals at Juniper Table, a fresh, Mediterranean restaurant, right inside the hotel.
They offer light breakfast foods, as well as hot dishes for lunch or dinner. Midday, the menu shifts to Mediterranean-inspired shareable snacks, salads, sandwiches, as well as heartier entrees—but the emphasis remains on the local, seasonal, organic ingredients.
The open counter offers a full barista menu, fresh juice, craft soda, draft beer, wine and cocktails.
Have you ever tried a Paris Brest? I want to learn how to make these, a specialty dessert, made of choux pastry, filled with a praline-flavored cream!
4 Saints
The hotel’s Rooftop Restaurant, 4 Saints, is fancy schmancy, with shareable, seasonal food and great ambience. The prices are lofty, and were a little steep for us, but there are also many other options around the hotel’s area if you choose to venture outside of the hotel.
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
Our last day, we rode the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—the world’s largest rotating tram car— over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of the Chino Canyon, up to the gorgeous wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto mountains.
We hiked around the State Park, enjoying the breathtaking views! The Aerial Tramway is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world!
We ubered over to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, a desert botanical garden and zoo located in Palm Desert.
We’re so in love with giraffes, we hung out with them in the African terrain and just watched them, mesmorized by their cute personalities!
Our last day, we enjoyed the pool one last time.
Thank you Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel for a lovely stay! We promise, we’ll be back!
