What is antipasto meat?
Did you know that antipasto means “before the meal” in Italian? So this could be any type of appetizer or a small meal–before the main meal.
We like to serve a platter of cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Sometimes we olives.
Why we love to serve the epic big charcuterie board
Every season is a new time for new routines, schedules, and even new beginnings! Also a great time to get dinner dates on the calendar, and be intentional with our hosting.
It’s intentional, because for me, not one dinner party ever “goes to waste.” Whether thinking ahead and planning an event, or last minute hosting, it’s always about the people.
We love pulling out The Big Board (links below) for a big party. The board really does bring people together, as you an see.
This board was served almost 5 years ago at my home in central Oregon to a group of friends. It was delicious and devoured quickly! :)
Having recently spent 3 days with some of my best blogging friends here at Sunriver Resort, the first night they came to my house for dinner! A quick jaunt up to Cardinal’s Landing for a peek at the view and sunset before appetizers.
Antipasti Skewers Charcuterie Board
For this appetizer (or meal), you can buy everything you need for this amazing appetizer at DeLallo Foods entertaining line (with fun, new tailgate ideas). My friend Kristin and daughter Abby helped put it together (BIG job!).
We combined various cheeses with their dried nuts, crackers, and this Tortellini Sausage Skewers Appetizer recipe!
Oh, and the GIANT charcuterie board? Grab the info at the bottom of this post!
Here’s another delicious Meat Cheese Charcuterie Board that I made earlier this year (with DeLallo Foods).
Perfect weather, great friends, a tiny house with a lot of people.
It just goes to show that you don’t need a big house to entertain.
Come up with a simple plan, and run with it.
Make a fabulous appetizer.
You’re set!

Sandy,
Your comment, “Food is love, but the actual act of serving and making others feel warm and welcome, wherever you are, is what I love.” just really resinated with me. This is the exact reason I love having people over or making something special to eat for my family. It’s how I show my love. The “ohhhhs and awwwws” and the “Oh! This is delicious!” just fills my heart with joy. I’m in love with your message! I am currently creating my own blog, going “live” this weekend (so nervous!), and I look at you for inspiration. You truly have a beautiful blog with an even more beautiful message!
Thank you for sharing your life with us,
Tiffany
Congrats on your new blog, Tiffany! This is a message that people need to be reminded of! Best of luck with your new endeavors! xo
Wow! Love this post — read about your get together over on Foodie Crush. I am from Bend, and my husband and I are hoping to move to Sunriver next summer (we have been living in Malaysia for 8 years — now our son just turned 2 and I want him to be closer to family). We always spend a few days out in Sunriver relaxing when we are home visiting my family, and it just seems like a great spot for us since we work remotely and don’t have to drive into town every day for work. And have the flexibility to spend months in the tropics in the dead of winter :) Beautiful board!
Michelle, look me up when you come back over to Bend! Yes, living by family is awesome, esp. when the kids are little! :) Welcome to RE!
Everything about this was gorgeous, warm and perfect entertaining. I can’t wait to make one of those big, round boards for my own party. I had no idea that Delallo had so many awesome things!! Thank you for such a fabulous dinner XOXO
what a wonderful appetizer, love the serving tray and even the idea of dollar store plates, thank you for all!
I was so sad to miss these first hours at your lovely home. You are THE BEST hostess. Thank you so much for an incredibly beautiful time at Sunriver. xo
Beautiful! I’ve yet to read any of Brene Browns books but they’re on my list.
Everyone’s pictures of sunriver sure made me want to go back. So glad the weather cooperated with you!
I’m so blessed to have a friend like you in my life!! Thanks for hosting us Sandy, and blowing us away with this charcuterie board!! I can’t wait to recreate it!!
Sandy, you are so inspiring!โค๏ธ
Awe, thank you Becky!
I love, love, love this! ย I really love the tray. ย I looked on the Pier One website and the tray’s description says not for food use. ย Did you line the tray to make it ok? ย Thanks for all the great ideas!
Hi, Julie. Yes, we lined the tray with parchment paper first! :) And we used lettuce! :)
Thank you! ย I am going to copy every bit of your beautiful presentation this weekend! ย I look forward to your posts ever day.
That is The Most Beautiful! appetizer tray I’ve ever seen!
Thank you!
