Trader Joe’s Charcuterie
It is no secret that Trader Joe’s is a playground for charcuterie makers. From the produce, to the cheese selection, to the crackers, to the specialty items, there are endless possibilities for making the charcuterie board of your dreams, and it all can be found in one store. Grab the Trader Joe’s Charcuterie shopping list!
Why we love this charcuterie board
If you’re a loyal Trader Joe’s customer, you know that the seasonal section is one of the best areas to find new, inspiring, novelty products. We love Trader Joe’s for their truffle oils, white and black. You know a high quality truffle oil by the clean, yet potent flavor, and by how the flavor doesn’t stick in your mouth the rest of the day (making everything else taste like artificial truffle).
This oil is amazing, and although I only use it for the crostini on this board, it can be used in many different ways (try truffle mac and cheese, drizzling it over popcorn, garnishing a pizza and pasta, or baking it into eggs).
Lastly, this board comes together in 15 minutes as long as you have your shopping done!

Why is cheese important?
Beginning with the cheese section, when making a large charcuterie board, the cheeses are perhaps the most important component to consider. When I make a board, I try to get a variety of cheeses, so that everyone has an option that suites their palates. I start with 1-2 firmer cheeses (Toscano in Syrah and Kaamte Gouda) that bring nuttiness, sweetness, and a toothsome texture, go well with chocolate, and are a safe bet for people who aren’t fond of “fancier cheeses’” that have a bit more funk.
I always include 1-2 soft and or spreadable cheeses, in this case a wedge of fresh tasting Truffle Cheese, Brie Cheese with Green Peppercorns, with its subtle, sweet juniper notes, as well as a tangy spreadable cheese like the Cranberry Chèvre, that tastes of bright goat cheese and sweet cranberry. Lastly, I always include a funky cheese like a Blue Stilton or another very ripened cheese to round out the selection.
How do you make crostini?
Cut the baguette, at an angle, into 14-16 slices. Brush with truffle oil, and broil on high, two racks under the broiler, until golden and crisp.
How do you make a charcuterie board?
Start with small bowls and fill with artichoke hearts, almonds, olives, and jam. Set on the Big Board. Open the sardines and set on the board.
Arrange the cheese on the board.
Next, fill in the spaces with the remaining ingredients.
