A Classic Game Day Board recipe with chili, cheese sticks, lil’ smokies, veggies, chips, and Ranch dressing! Don’t forget chex mix and M&Ms!
Friends, what will you be serving for Super Bowl Sunday this year? Here’s a Classic Game Day Board, served on my new BIG BOARD.
Classic Game Day Board Recipe
Delicious for the big game this weekend, you can make all of these snacks, or have your family and friends bring recipe, so you don’t have to do it all!
Ingredients for game day board
All you need for this Classic Game Day Board are these ingredients:
- Chili (make my Easy Homemade Chili recipe)
- Chex Mix + M&Ms
- Pop Chips (gluten-free option for your guests)
- Fritos
- Carrot sticks
- Celery sticks
- Cucumber
- Mozzarella sticks (follow this Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks recipe)
- Lil’ Smokies (follow this Mini Crescent Dogs recipe)
- Mustard
- Ketchup
- Ranch dressing
- Shredded cheese and onion for chili garnish
Last year we made this, this, and this for a large party! Obviously we won’t be having as many people this year, so this Classic Game Day Board is a great size!
Change out the pot of chili if you aren’t chili lovers, for a big pot of soup!

How to make a chili board
You can make my Epic Chili Dinner Board (with corn bread), or make a smaller version today of this board!
- On a large prepared board, place a hot pad in the center (for the pot of chili or soup).
- Make the lil’ smokies, and either bake the cheese sticks (or use the air fryer). I like using the air fryer while the smokies are baking in the oven.
- Around where the pot of chili will be, build the board with veggies, snacks, chhips, dips, and condiments.
- Mix the chex mix with M&Ms!
- Right before serving, add the pot of hot chili!
Having people over
Having people over and building relationships means a simple investment… and many people do it casually (like with a barbecue, game day, or pizza night).
Last weekend we had a few friends over, and I made a giant salad, and we ordered pizza! It doesn’t always have to be flashy and big.
Hospitality and hosting are definitely an investment of time, thoughtfulness, and yes, money. It may take more than we want to give, but the results–the hugs, the listening ear, a deeper/fuller smile, the stories, the laughter—are so worth it.
It’s about putting aside the “me and my wants” for the other one sitting across the table.
Something to think about today!
So now, who are you having over for the game this weekend? (wink wink)
