Friends, have you thought about a breakfast board out by a fire? What a fun weekend idea!

Lox and Bagels Board

This post, How to Create a DIY Lox and Bagels Board, gives a shopping list, and a quick link to a great board to use!

Plus … take a peek at ou NEW fire bowl in our backyard!

We recently purchased a new fire pit for our back deck that I’m very excited about. Yes, even in February, when it’s freezing cold.

We put it together, and out of the blue … people started gathering! :)

How to Create a DIY Lox and Bagels Board

But first. A breakfast board. Breakfast boards are fun for the weekends, or if out-of-town guests show up!

This spread today is on my smaller board (grab the affiliate link), which I love. Of course, it has a lip around it, so the food does not fall off.

Creating an epic bagel board is easy! You can make it really big (on these boards), or grab the link to this 20” board below.

Ingredients for Lox n’ Bagel Board

  • Good quality bagels (or you can make your own, Easy Bagel Recipe)
  • Lox
  • Ripe tomatoes
  • Capers
  • Whipped cream cheese
  • Chicken breakfast sausage
  • Soft boiled eggs
  • Red onions
  • Chives to garnish
  • Grapes, cutie oranges, or other fruit to garnish

Bring interesting people to your fire

I love this quote for a cozy winter fire. Once in awhile we will dress warm and head outside by the fire. It’s a way to bring people together, and with a dusting of snow, last night we had the best conversation with friends.

“You don’t have to say everything to be a light. Sometimes a fire built on a hill will bring interested people to your campfire.” — Shannon L. Alder

So it might be a little chilly for this board right now, but come spring and summer, you’ll find us all times of day or night around this fire!

As with any fire, or any board … set it out, and they will come!
