Easy Taco Recipe Dinner Board

I am a hospitality lover. Bringing people together around food is what makes me happy. I credit my mother for teaching me how to make tacos!

Probably the first thing that comes to mind when we think of a Mexican menu is tacos!

It was my Mom who first introduced me to crunchy tacos. Of course you can fry tortillas the old-fashioned way, but when these crunchy shells were introduced in 1954, they made weeknight cooking a breeze.

So we ate a lot of tacos as a kid. Here’s more info on when crunchy tacos came on the scene.

Epic Taco Board

Now you can make an Epic Taco Board by baking the tacos ahead, and serving hot on this large board with all the toppings!

Ingredients for this board

30 taco shells, onion, ground turkey (or your favorite meat), seasoning, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Add in salsa, corn salsa, sour cream, guacamole, olives, cilantro, and chips!

How to make a taco board

  1. Use an epic board (make sure it’s seasoned for food, or lay down parchment paper).
  2. In the center, place a bowl with shredded lettuce and tomatoes.
  3. Fill small bowls with your favorite salsa, guac, olives, and sour cream.
  4. Around the outside, leave room for 30 taco shells!

How to make the taco meat

  1. Cook a medium onion, and add your favorite meat and seasoning!
  2. Fill the taco shells with meat and cheese and bake for 5 minutes.

My Mom taught me the “how” of hospitality, but more importantly, she taught me the “why.” She modeled for us the importance of having people around our table—including messy dishes, sticky fingers, and lots of tacos.

Tacos are such an easy dish to make for company because everyone loves tacos!

Mom also leaned quietly into people’s hearts, and nourished those relationships, both inside my family and out. And through her modeling, I learned to do the same.

I am thankful for my Mom. Her passion for hospitality is one of the greatest gifts I received from her.

So thank you Mom, for Taco Tuesday!

[I don’t always get my photos right, HA!]

Best Charcuterie Boards to Buy

I updated my list for the best charcuterie boards to buy, since Pier One has gone out of biz.

For this post I used the epic 28-inch Pier One round board (but it is no longer available). I will be updating “best charcuterie boards to buy” post as I find more boards (with a lip) that would work for hosting!

For now, I absolutely love the LeCreuset Tray (link is in the “best charcuterie boards too buy”) because it has a nice lip, it’s food safe, and EASY for entertaining.

Happy Hosting!
