Easy Taco Recipe Dinner Board
I am a hospitality lover. Bringing people together around food is what makes me happy. I credit my mother for teaching me how to make tacos!
Probably the first thing that comes to mind when we think of a Mexican menu is tacos! You may also love fish tacos! If so, try this Crunchy Breaded Fish Sticks Taco Board for an easy taco recipe dinner board.
Why we love an Easy Taco Recipe Dinner Board
We love to invite people over for tacos on the weekend. But we really love Taco Tuesday! I grew up with delicious tacos as a staple in my home, and have the fontest memories. It was my Mom who first introduced me to crunchy tacos. Of course you can fry tortillas the old-fashioned way, but when these crunchy shells were introduced in 1954, they made weeknight cooking a breeze.

Serve an Epic Taco Board on The Big Board
Setting out a dinner board is a casual way to host, and it’s fun to see the faces as the guests walk through the door. A taco board is so beautiful!
How to make the taco meat
- Cook a medium onion, and add your favorite meat and seasoning!
- Fill the taco shells with meat and cheese and bake for 5 minutes.
Everyone asks: How do you keep the tacos hot?
Easy TIP: Prepare the tacos and keep warm in the oven.
LEAVE in the oven until right before serving.
You can still prepare the board without the tacos!
Then pull from the oven, arrange on the board, and SERVE!
How to make a taco board
- Use an epic board (make sure it’s seasoned for food, or lay down parchment paper).
- In the center, place a bowl with shredded lettuce and tomatoes.
- Fill small bowls with your favorite salsa, guac, olives, and sour cream.
- Around the outside, leave room for 30 taco shells!
My Mom taught me the “how” of hospitality, but more importantly, she taught me the “why.” She modeled for us the importance of having people around our table—including messy dishes, sticky fingers, and lots of tacos.
Tacos are such an easy dish to make for company because everyone loves tacos!
Mom also leaned quietly into people’s hearts, and nourished those relationships, both inside my family and out. And through her modeling, I learned to do the same.
I am thankful for my Mom. Her passion for hospitality is one of the greatest gifts I received from her.
So thank you Mom, for Taco Tuesday!

I want the board in this post, how do I purchase it. The ones on the link are not the same.
This board was from 2017 and hasn’t been available for years, which is why we came out with our own line of boards with JK Adams! Plus it was not food safe. It was 24 inches. Our large big board is 26 inches!
Crunchy tacos are my favorite but I have the worst luck finding taco shells where they are all intact and all the same size. What brand do you use???
For this we used Old El Paso brand – must most “crunchy” shells work! Enjoy!
How can I order a 26” board, what’s the cost and do you ship to Australia.
Hi there, we only ship in the USA! :)
Looks great as a display, but in reality those pre-filled “crunchy” tacos will be soggy in <5 minutes and it'll take at least 15 minutes to put them together on the board.
Anyone living in a state on the Mexican border will tell you it's better to serve the shells empty, and EVERYTHING else served buffet style so the guests can fill them as they choose…and the shells remain crispy until you eat them.
Hi Gary! The beauty about boards is that you can make them your own. Do it your way, yes! ENJOY!
Where can I find the bowl you have the lettuce in?
What size is it?
Hi, Cass. It’s about 10 inches and I have had this bowl for years. I think I bought it originally at Target! I love it cuz it’s low-line :)
I am concerned the bottom of the tacos getting soggie.
Nope! If you have really juicy meat, then maybe. We don’t use soggy, juicy meat for these kind of tacos! :)
Hello. I love how you do the board. I have a question. What is the size of the board you use for the epic Taco board? Thanks
This was a few years ago (28-inches, no longer available). The biggest board we sell is 26-inches which is perfect for this recipe!
What size is the board you used for the 30 tacos?
Hi there, we used a 28-inch board (not available anymore). We have food safe boards that are 26, 23, and 20 inches, and then 12 x 36! ENJOY!
What size board do you have in the pictures?
Thanks!
28-inch, no longer available.
