Ingredients for an Epic Roast Beef Sandwich Board
- Bread: Crusty dinner rolls or sandwich rolls
- Meat: Thinly sliced deli roast beef
- Salad: Trader Joe’s Macaroni Salad, Best Potato Salad, or Best Italian Pasta Salad
- Cheese: Swiss, Cheddar, and Pepper Jack
- Fresh Veggies: Romaine lettuce leaves and thinly sliced red onion
- Fruit: Red and green grapes, plus any seasonal fruit you love
- Condiments: Yellow mustard, aioli mustard, mayonnaise, and bread-and-butter pickles
- Extras: Fresh guacamole and sliced salami or salami cheese rolls

How to Make an Epic Roast Beef Sandwich Board
- On a large serving board, leave space in the center for a bowl of Trader Joe’s Macaroni Salad.
- Arrange the romaine lettuce leaves around the outside of the board, then nestle the dinner rolls on top.
- Slice the rolls in half and lightly butter each side.
Tip: Just before serving, toast the buttered rolls under the broiler for 1–2 minutes. Warm, lightly toasted rolls make these sandwiches extra delicious!
- Fill small bowls with the mustard, aioli mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, and guacamole, then place them around the board.
- Arrange the roast beef, cheeses, and salami around the condiment bowls.
- Fill any open spaces with grapes or your favorite seasonal fruit.
- Just before serving, place the macaroni salad in the center of the board. Return the toasted rolls to the platter and invite everyone to build their own perfect roast beef sandwich!

Tips and Substitutions
- Make ahead: Prepare the Trader Joe’s Macaroni Salad several hours ahead or the day before—it tastes even better after chilling. Wash and prep the lettuce, slice the onion, and gather all of the meats, cheeses, fruit, and condiments in advance.
- Toast the rolls: Just before serving, lightly butter the rolls and toast them under the broiler for 1–2 minutes. Warm, toasted rolls make these sandwiches extra delicious.
- Serving a crowd? Fill the entire board with sandwich fixings, then serve beverages, chips, and extra salads on the side.
- Switch up the meat: Substitute sliced turkey, ham, or a combination of both. Add crispy bacon to create a delicious Club Sandwich Board.
- Choose your bread: Use slider buns, sandwich rolls, or your favorite sliced artisan bread.
- Change the side: Instead of Trader Joe’s Macaroni Salad, serve potato salad, Italian pasta salad, coleslaw, or a fresh green salad.
- Make it your own: Add sliced tomatoes, avocado, pepperoncini, or any of your favorite sandwich toppings to customize the board for your guests.

Keep Entertaining Light and Fun
One of the best things about serving a board is how easy it makes entertaining. I never want to feel stressed when people are coming over, and I have a feeling you don’t either. Keeping things simple means you can spend more time with your guests and less time in the kitchen.
For me, it’s also about creating the right atmosphere. It doesn’t have to be fancy—a table set with intention, a few candles lit, and delicious food shared with people you love is more than enough. Those simple touches make everyone feel welcome.
That’s why I love this Epic Roast Beef Sandwich Board. Nearly everything can be prepped ahead of time. When your guests arrive, all you have to do is arrange the board, toast the rolls, place the macaroni salad in the center, and enjoy the gathering.

Roast beef is one of my family’s favorite dinners, whether we’re enjoying a crock pot pot roast or a prime rib–we’re all about the leftovers! Or, this hot roast beef sandwich (barbecue) would be amazing served on the BIG BOARD.
