If you can pick up some festive plates, do it. (I bought these “MERRY” plates at our local Ace Hardware store:) Sometimes you can find entertaining pieces in the more unusual places, especially during the holidays. (The brand is Ragon House, and here’s a different version on Amazon.)

Of course, adding “new” is not mandatory to setting an elegant table. I keep a few solid colored plates on hand (red, blue, yellow, and white), some that I’ve had for years, that work with so many table settings. Solid colors never go out of style!

Hot Bacon Crab Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 8 ounces cream cheese, softened.
  • 8 ounces crabmeat drained
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 green onions diced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese finely grated + 2 Tbsp.
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Combine all ingredients and spread in shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. cheese. Bake 20-25 minutes, until bubbly.
  • Sprinkle with green onions; serve hot with Italian bread, crackers, or toasts.
