How you set a table for an outdoor dinner party is usually a reflection of the mood of an event. For us in our new mountain home, we’ll be hosting more casual dinners now, which I’m excited about.
Because we’re in the outdoors, I like to choose durable materials that are hard to break and won’t fade in the sun, but will set a warm and welcoming scene.

In the meantime, melamine is the new, cool, outdoor product that looks like ceramic, but is actually plastic.
It’s scratch-resistant, and durable.
Some styles look more formal, for a more special gathering.
I set the table with the Bella Donna Collection (dinner plate and salad plate).
I just love yellow and blue colors combined (adding an appetizer plate).
Using real silverware always adds a touch of class, and also clear glass wine glasses.
Their product is also a restaurant-grade, BPA-free, 100% melamine, with each piece hand-polished with a high-gloss finish.
Truly beautiful, looking like glass, they are durable, shatter-resistant (if you drop one), and heat-resistant, plus dishwasher safe (top and bottom rack).
Centerpiece
Having a simple centerpiece is one of the easiest ways to dress up your table with color. Keeping it low-line, so guests can visit with each other across the table, I used a low cluster of yellow Gerbera daisies.
Off to the side is a table with drinks and ice.
