Smash Burger Sauce

At the end of the day, special sauce is a condiment in our household for burgers, fries, sandwiches, you name it. Traditionally it’s special, because it’s a family recipe, similar to Thousand Island dressing with mayo, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish. Also for this easy smash burger sauce recipe, it’s optional to add relish to this sauce, but you can also add just the pickle juice.

How do you make Smash Burger Sauce?

  1. In a small bowl, combine and mix all ingredients for special sauce—add Sriracha or hot sauce for a little kick!
  2. Serve cold on burgers, hotdogs, or with French fries.

Tips and substitutions:

  • A splash of Tabasco sauce or Sriracha sauce adds a nice zing to the burger sauce!
  • For a little bit of sweetness, try adding a teaspoon or two of honey.
  • Add relish if you love a more chunky sauce–sweet relish or dill pickle relish (savory).
  • If you want a creamier sauce, add some sour cream or Greek yogurt.

How do you serve burger sauce?

“Secret sauce” refers to that thing that you do that is unique, different, and special…. But today, think food! :) We love a good cheeseburger, don’t you? Serve Josh’s Favorite Double Cheeseburger with these Bacon-Wrapped Air Fryer Cheesy Jalapeño Poppers–the perfect summer menu! Also this Teriyaki Burgers recipe is awesome!

But referring to RE and entertaining, if I had to sum it up, my secret sauce is getting food on the table (easy recipes), and then the conversation with guests.
