BEST Caprese Flatbread Pizza recipe

Tips and substitutions:

  • Add a twist of pesto, fresh spinach or pesto!
  • Make for a snack, lunch, or dinner. It’s great for a “girl dinner” too! Cut into smaller pieces to make it go further!
  • Switch up the ingredients based on what you’ve got in your fridge, and add salsa, black beans, and cilantro. Or add protein like rotisserie chicken (or leftover grilled chicken), with barbecue sauce.
  • You can use any store-bought naan or pizza crust for this recipe.
  • If you can’t find balsamic glaze at the store, you can make your own! All you have to do to make balsamic glaze/reduction is to place balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan and simmer it over medium heat until it reduces and gets thick.
  • Add sun-dried tomatoes if you can’t get your hands on any fresh tomatoes! We recommend the oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, and drizzling the flatbread with a little of that sun-dried tomato oil on top.
  • Use whole tomato slices or sliced cherry tomatoes, or you can even use sliced peaches or nectarines.
  • We think heirloom tomatoes are the best though, as they add the best “summer” flavors and are a beautiful color to the dish!

We love this pizza with thick BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella cheese slices! My friend, Brenda, makes Individual Tortilla Caprese Pizzas and they are DELISH!

Top with sea salt and balsamic glaze.

Only 10 minutes to prepare, and then 10 minutes to bake the most delicious, end-of-summer treat!

The perfect summer treat!

Enjoy!
