Easy creamy dip to bring to a party

This is one of those dips that you can make ahead and pop into the fridge until it’s nearly time to serve. It tastes best when it warms up a bit, and it’s never baked, so this no-bake dip is easy to take along with you to events.

Take this easy cream cheese dip to a potluck and watch it disappear! It’s such a great appetizer and it appeals to people of all ages. Besides, everything with bacon is better, right? Another favorite dip with cream cheese (served on a big board) is our Best Taco Dip – yum!

how to make a Cream Cheese Pepper Jelly Dip

How to make Cream Cheese Pepper Jelly Dip

You can use a stand or hand mixer to make this no-bake cream cheese dip!

  1. Add the softened cream cheese to the bowl of a stand mixer or use a hand mixer to whip it on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until it is light and fluffy.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar, about ⅓ of the jar of pepper jelly, half the green onions, and your favorite seasoning. I love adding Everything But The Bagel Seasoning, but add whatever you like and whip it until smooth.
  3. Spread the whipped dip onto a dinner plate and cover it loosely with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours for the flavors to blend.
  4. Remove the dip from the fridge and spread the rest of the pepper jelly over the top.
  5. Sprinkle with the chopped crispy bacon and remaining green onions.
  6. Serve with your favorite dippers, and dig in!

The best dippers and crackers

Crackers, pita chips, pretzel bites… so many choices! Here are some of my favorites:

  • Toasted focaccia bread
  • Butter crackers
  • Pita chips or toasted pita wedges
  • Breadsticks – The crunchy kind.
  • Pretzel bites
  • Kettle chips – They’re thicker than regular chips and can hold up to the dip.

Tips & substitutions

  • If your dip is too thick when trying to whip it, add 1-2 spoonfuls of water or milk to thin it a bit.
  • Use brand-name cream cheese. The texture of store-brand cream cheese can sometimes make it hard to whip nice and fluffy.
  • You can prep this dip the day before; just let it sit at room temperature for a bit before serving so that it is easier to dip and spread.

Serving suggestions

This is such a great dip and it makes the perfect appetizer or after-dinner snack. I love serving it at potlucks along with hearty eats like my favorite meatball casserole or slow cooker Pulled Pork Chili that I can transport right in the ceramic insert. This dip is also a great choice with other dips! I love doing a dip board with this dip along with Salmon Dip and Cranberry Jalapeno Dip, but you can use all your favorites!

Storage

Store any leftover dip in the fridge covered with plastic wrap. It’ll keep for 2-3 days. Leftover crackers should be wrapped tightly.

Ingredients

  • 2 8 oz blocks of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 11 oz jar of pepper jelly, divided
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, divided
  • 1-2 tsp favorite seasoning, we use Special Shit seasoning but you can use Everything but the Bagel seasoning, too
  • 8 slices crispy bacon, chopped up
  • 1-2 packages of pita chips or butter crackers or favorite sturdy chips

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer, add the softened 2 blocks of cream cheese, and whip on high speed for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the shredded cheddar, ⅓ of the jar of pepper jelly, half of the diced green onion, plus your favorite seasoning. Whip until smooth. If you need to add 1-2 tsp of water to make it a little creamier, this is an option.
  • Spread the whipped dip onto a dinner plate.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • To serve, remove the dip from the refrigerator and immediately spread the remaining pepper jelly all over the top with a spatula. Top with the fresh chopped crunchy bacon and finely chopped green onions.
  • Serve with a round of butter crackers or pita chips (the thicker ones), or your favorite crackers and chips.
  • ENJOY!

Notes

Optional to bake the dip at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. If you do this, place in a greased pie pan, and bake BEFORE adding the spread of pepper jelly on top, bacon, and green onions. Serve right away.
