Cinnamon Whipped Cream for cake

I just love homemade whipped topping! To be honest, I really despise Cool Whip. I just can’t stand the texture or the flavors. So when I get a chance to make a homemade whipped cream, I’m all over it. We love it on cake, and we love it on pies.

The bottom line is fresh homemade whipped cream is a must with any homemade dessert.

In my humble, Thanksgiving (and fall entertaining) opinion :)

How do you make cinnamon whipped cream?

  1. Add the whipping cream to the chilled bowl and beat until stiff peaks are just about to form (4-5 minutes).
  2. Beat in vanilla, sugar, and spices until peaks form.
  3. Serve on your favorite dessert!

Where do you buy cinnamon whipped cream? Homemade is the best, and it’s so easy to make. For the upcoming fall season, we love this whipping cream recipe served with our Fall Mini Pie Dessert Board.

Besides homemade, we’ve not seen pre-made cinnamon whipped cream in the store.

Tips and substitutions:

  1. Make ahead. Don’t overheat the cream, so watch it while you’re using a stand mixer.
  2. If you use a hand mixer, it’s easier to stop the beating before it gets too thick.
  3. Over-beating the cream will make butter, did you know? Don’t overbeat the cream!
  4. Put plastic wrap over the bowl and refrigerate.
  5. Serve on top of your favorite desserts.

Oh, and looking for the “big board” information on this pie board? You can get all the details to the different sizes of boards to buy. This particular board has not been available for 5 years (and it was not food safe). Our new boards are all food safe, made in the USA, and have a raised lip. Check out all the sizes, perfect for the holidays.
