But for today, we enjoyed this Rolled Flatbread Cubano Sandwich Recipe a few weeks ago … sooooo good! We served these along with Settlers of Catan Ground Turkey Pepperoncini Chili — check it out.

What is in a Cubano sandwich?

If you’re a mustard lover like I am, you’ll be very happy with this sandwich. Spread a coat of yellow mustard over the bread. Then add sliced roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss cheese, and thinly sliced dill pickles are added in layers.

We added salami to our sandwich, and rolled it together on a flatbread. I think you’ll really love this recipe, and it’s so tasty for Game Day!

Blessing people by “entertaining

I believe great entertaining is all about “blessing” people–whatever your style, type of cook that you are, design of your house, how many kids you have running around, if you’re an empty-nester, etc. (So, what’s your style for Game Day … casual like mine?)

Entertaining is simply about hosting guests in a delicious and loving way. It’s about spending time with and taking care of people. I love how mature that sounds. It’s nothing to take lightly. Hosting is a gift you can give to others!

I learned a long time ago to get my eyes off of myself, and not worry about reciprocation, or who’s having who over, if we were invited to that party, and all those silly things that can bog us down.

Talk it over with your family, decide who to invite over, who you want to get to know better, and plan a get-together.

Oh, and hosting doesn’t have to be all fancy, either. Start small, like hosting a simple Game Day party.

This is a fun way to get to know new people, and everyone brings a dish and drinks, which takes the pressure off of you to have to do it all.

Rolled Flatbread Cubano Sandwich Recipe

Servings: 12 rolls / 24 halves

  • 12 small flatbread we used buttermilk, as they are softer
  • 4 cups Swiss cheese grated
  • 12 oz. deli ham very thinly sliced
  • 12 oz. salami very thinly sliced
  • 8 oz. prosciutto
  • 8 oz. jar pepperoncini sliced and drained
  • 1/2 c. parsley
  • 1 cup Brianna's Dijon Honey Mustard Dressing or more, if desired

  • Warm the flatbread in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until soft and pliable (rollable).
  • On a cookie sheet, lay 6 flatbreads. Drizzle each flatbread with either regular mustard or Dijon Honey Mustard Dressing (which is best) or Brianna's Dijon Honey Mustard Dressing. Layer 1 slice of each meat on top; sprinkle with pepperoncini and grated cheese. Repeat for another cookie sheet of 6 (12 flatbread total).
  • For each pan, broil for 1-2 minutes, until cheese is bubbly. Immediately roll the flatbread tightly, lengthwise.
  • Place all 12 rolls on 1 large cookie sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cheese; BROIL on high for 1-2 minutes. Watch so they do not get too brown.
  • Slice flatbread roll in half and place on a serving platter. Drizzle with more mustard dressing (or serve regular mustard on the side), and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

My first experience with lemons like this was at Fortnum and Mason’s in England…and they were dipped in chocolate; so delicious.
