This White Bean and Basil Hummus Recipe is the perfect blend of summer basil and white beans into a smooth, tasty dip.
Even if you are a reluctant entertainer, the casual nature of a Super Bowl party is the ideal setting to test your hosting skills, because it’s laid back and EASY going. Just like this EASY White Bean and Basil Hummus recipe I’m sharing today.
I love easy going parties. And quite honestly, a Super Bowl party is fun to plan, because everyone contributes and brings their specialty recipe! (I wrote a post over at Answers.com on how to plan a Super Bowl Party if you need more tips!)
My wonderful older sister promised me 6 months to come help organize my pantry (this was part of my my 50th birthday gift she gave me – so sweet and generous!). It took 6 months to get a date on the calendar, coordinated between the two of us.
Oh, my, goodness. Scary!
We finally did it. We took everything out of the pantry, and put it back in.
There are new little “homes” for pasta, baking, canned goods — you know, the way beautiful pantries look … for a few months. Ha! :)
My favorite shelf ? The variety of Bush’s Beans. We love beans and cook with them all the time. If you have beans in the pantry, you are one lucky cook, because you’re pretty much set for a delicious meal.
This time I grabbed the White Northern Beans, and a few ingredients from Trader Joe’s (tahini and a fresh basil), to puree up the perfect Super Bowl Party dip: White Bean and Basil Hummus.
I love this recipe because it’s great for the “dairy-free, Vegan, Vegetarian, and the gluten-free” crowd, and you can mix it up with crackers, pita bread, veggies, or even use as sandwich or quesidilla spread.
Hummus makes everyone happy! And the variety of white beans, rather than chickpeas, is quite tasty!
I’m happy my pantry has stayed nice and organized for a few weeks now.
I’m determined to stay “on top of it” and keep it that way.
What dip will you be making or taking for Super Bowl this Sunday?

Made the hummus according to the recipe, except for the 1/2 cup olive oil. I added the olive oil last, after processing the rest of the ingredients, and only needed 1/4 cup olive oil for the right consistency.
Overall, great flavor, very much like the Trader Joe’s hummus, and a good way to use extra basil.

Just made this and it is yummy! I did not add tahini because I don’t really like it but it still turned out ok. I also added cumin because I could!
I’d like to make this for snacking, how long do you think I can store it in the refrigerator? (in a mason jar)

Loving this hummus! Basil and white beans sound delicious!
Your hummus dip looks delicious! I love that you decided to make it using different beans. Along with the usual snack food (bacon wrapped cocktail wieners and southwest wraps) for the Super Bowl I’ll be making a homemade veggie dip that has dill weed in it
Aw, you have the coolest family! Such a thoughtful gift from your sister. (And check out all of that pasta!!) :)
This hummus sounds wonderful!
I love changing it up on game day with healthier dips. This is perfection!
