Ingredients needed to make a 4th of July charcuterie board
- Fresh blueberries – We used Oregon blueberries.
- Prosciutto + salami – For a salty, savory addition.
- Soft goat cheese + Fromager French Brie – We like to serve mild cheeses, like mozzarella and goat cheese or Brie cheese, that pair so well with sweet and tangy notes of blueberries.
- Crackers – Feel free to add your favorite crackers.
- Cherries – Adds a bright pop of red color to the board.
- Shortbread cookies – Walkers Mini Festive Stars shortbread cookies are super cute and resemble the stars in the American flag.
- Pocky sticks + chocolate pieces – For the sweet tooths.

Sandy’s tips and substitutions:
- Storage: Leftover crackers, fruit, chocolate and cookies, and salad must be stored in separate air tight containers. While leftover crackers, cookies, and chocolates can be stored at room temperature, fresh ingredients or those with any creamy elements must be stored in the fridge. Don’t store the assembled board in the fridge. The crackers and cookies will get stale.
- Make the caprese salad ahead: Assemble the salad (blueberries + cherry tomatoes + mozzarella stars) and refrigerate it. Wait to add olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper until right before serving so the salad stays fresh and crisp.
- For a prettier patriotic presentation: For a prettier board, stick to food that resembles the colors of the American flag!
- Caprese salad dressing: Instead of normal balsamic vinegar, that can make a salad a little messy, use white balsamic instead! In addition to the beautiful, plump blueberries, drizzle the salad with oil and balsamic, add some sea salt and a crack of pepper, and don’t forget the fresh basil sprig!
- Save the cookies and chocolate for last: Add shortbread cookies and chocolate pieces just before serving so they don’t soften or pick up moisture from the chilled salad or fruits.

Variations:
- Gluten-free patriotic charcuterie board: Replace regular crackers with rice crackers and gluten-free alternatives. Do the same for the cookies and pocky sticks.
- Fruit alternatives: Use blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries instead.
- Add-ins: Nuts, dips, pretzels, and other fillers can be added to this 4th of July charcuterie board.
