- We love celebrating the 4th of July with bright and beautiful food and this patriotic charcuterie board offers exactly that!
- This board makes a great festive appetizer to serve before the main meal for the 4th of July.
- Easily customize this red, white and blue charcuterie board with your favorite crackers, dips, and fruit.

Ingredients needed to make a red, white and blue charcuterie board
- Fruit – Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries.
- Crackers – Add your favorite crackers. We love flatbread crackers with rosemary.
- Cheese – Boursin cheese, brie cheese, and Jarlsberg cheese.
- Dip – I’ve used Jarlsberg cheese dip for convenience, but you can make homemade dips instead. Feel free to add a few of your favorite dips to the table, such as Hot Bacon Crab Dip, Cream Cheese Salmon Dip, Dill Pickle Cream Cheese, or Fried Pickle Dip.
- Cured meats – Use good quality cured meats (either from DeLallo Foods or I buy at Fred Meyer). Salami, prosciutto, or anything you prefer.
- Blue corn chips – We buy them at Trader Joe’s.
- Pico de gallo – Try my Easy Corn Pico de Gallo Salad or Watermelon Pico de Gallo.
- Regular salsa – Home Canned Salsa or Zucchini Salsa work well.
- Veggies – Jicama, red peppers, cauliflower, and cherry tomatoes.
- Lindt chocolates – Opt for the ones wrapped in blue.
- 4th of July Blueberry Caprese Skewers – Or these Caprese Salad Skewers.

Serving
This patriotic charcuterie board is the perfect appetizer or snack for your 4th of July celebrations before serving Grilled Margarita Shrimp Skewers, Grilled BBQ Marinated Chicken, Grilled Turkey Burgers, or grilled steak.
Don’t forget to get the party started with this refreshing Summer Sangria or this Hugo Cocktail!

Sandy’s tips and substitutions:
- Storage: Leftover crackers, fruit, chocolate, dips, cheese, veggies, and skewers must be stored in separate air tight containers. While leftover crackers and chocolates can be stored at room temperature, fresh ingredients or those with any creamy elements must be stored in the fridge. Don’t store the assembled board in the fridge as some of the ingredients will turn stale or soggy.
- Make ahead: the caprese skewers ahead: Assemble the skewers and any homemade dips ahead and add to the board just before assembling.
- For a prettier patriotic presentation: For a prettier board, stick to food that resembles the colors of the American flag!
- Save the crackers, chips, and chocolate for last: Add any items that could soften or absorb moisture from the chilled skewers and fruits just before serving.

Variations:
- Gluten-free holiday board: Replace regular crackers and chips with gluten-free alternatives. Make sure to check the ingredients list of any store-bought products, such as dips.
- Fruit alternatives: Cherries, sliced red apples, and blackberries are other great additions.
- Add-ins: Nuts, chocolate-coated pretzels, cookies (Lemon Powdered Sugar Cookies) and other fillers can be added to this red, white and blue charcuterie board.

Love it! Copied it, put my own spin on it. I found the board at Pier One as you said. Sanded it down well and refinished as suggested. Wish I could leave a photo. Love all the ideas!
Hi I have been amazed with your ideas on food board you are making congratulations! I love food and gathering our friends in the house and your ideas will be so enjoy full for every one of our guests.
May I ask where can I find the round board you are showing on the pictures? I have tried to find one but I can’t find a site that is selling one like yours?
Would you please give the steps, in order, of exactly how you use mineral oil and beeswax to food proof this tray? Which first…and the process? Thank you!
It doesn’t matter which one you rub on the board first. What we have is mixed together (in 1 container). :)
Happy Fourth and Happy Birthday. Love the board with all the red white and blue.
Sounds amazing!
Can you please tell me where you got the tray you use
Yes, Pier 1 :)
